It's funny, I made this post as a joke but it was actually pretty difficult to fill out the roster after the trade. This puts Detroit in cap hell for a long time and Edmonton is a cap floor team and still looks pretty good

No from Detroit for me haha. You just saw a second round exit from McDavid and Draisaitl playing as well as humanly possible. That’s what cap hell does to you. Nurse and Campbell contracts are disgusting and then some

I agree. I tested an ACGM from Edmonton's perspective and the they look pretty good with Draisaitl, RNH, Kasper, McLeod down the middle, Hyman, Raymond, Kane, Holloway on the wing, top 4 of Edvinsson, Bouchard, Ekholm, Kulak, and 25 million to find a starting goalie (Hill?) and fill out the roster.

This would put Detroit in cap hell forever and would have to start trading futures in order to resign Seider, Rasmussen, Berggren, etc

It'd be nice to have McD, but not worth it

Pull Nurse (probably worst deal in NHL) out of the deal and give them Chariot while adding in an NHL bubble player like YAMO/Holloway and it would make more sense.

This would RUIN Detroit as is.
