This draft is trying to maximize long term value of players for trades and picks.

Should probably trade all goalies except Korpisalo and Mrazek - build around them.

Bogosian, Vatanen, and McNabb are deadline bait, same with Neal, Boedker, and Marchessault. All should have some value, Neal, Marchy and Vatanen the most. Marchessault is a very interesting deadline deal since his AAV is only 750K and he has some re-sign youth value.

In real life some of these teams will bribe Vegas to avoid players, likely candidates and replacements:

Matt Dumba - Worth at least a 1st round pick to protect. Should take E Staal or Scandella in his place. Staal had a great season last year and is on a very good contract. He is probably worth another first rounder + at the deadline.

Sami Vatanen - worth maybe a 1st or 2nd round to protect. Should probably take Josh Manson instead, but I don't know the ducks youth super well.

Mrazek - Tough to estimate his true value. He is still so young and an RFA in 2018 - should be worth something to keep. Ryan Sproul seems like the obvious second choice and could also be worth quite a bit. Seems like he has improved a lot since junior when he was pure offense.

Korpisalo - Dude is a 22 year old who seems like he could be the real deal. Could be worth it to Columbus to protect him, however they are also worried about Jack Johnson. Johnson has pretty good value and would be another big deadline piece leaving Vegas if they had him.

I like the way you're thinking here. I built my own team with a similar thought - I just went more for defense than goalies.
My one issue is I doubt Vegas would be able to find anyone who wants Boedker's contract. I think SJ would be laughing all day if he's chosen.

Also, reports are out there saying Columbus has made a deal to protect both Johnson AND Korpisalo.

Good points Mark. I had heard the Columbus reports about Johnson and Korpisalo both being kept - sounds expensive. I would think at least a first and second rounder, maybe more? Seems to me like the third choice for Vegas should be William Karlsson? He has seen a lot of improvement over the last two seasons and could be a middle 6 scoring line player in Vegas.

On Boedker's contract - yeah it is not great. I had originally thought Dylan Demelo would be a better choice but I am still a fan of Boedker's speed and hands. I think he could be a 50 point player on a second line somewhere and Vegas could get like a 2nd rounder + a bad prospect for him. I think that return would probably be better than Demelo but I am not sure. Boedker could also slot into a first line role on this very young team and get traded in a future year or kept as a core piece.
