I just dont think the difference in draft places is enough, and ARZ already has the cap floor.

Mrazek was the difference of 13 spots, and CHI had no better options.

ARZ is what 9 spots, Murray is more expensive and they have better options and are already at cap floor.

I think dumping murray even for a draft drop will be bigger

Running back the same D back is a big mistake.

The marginal upgrade to the FWD group doesn't make this team better. With the year older on JT, ROR, Gio, Schenn, (and adding an older Perrry) there's a chance this group is much worse off in reality.

You could add a pick on top of that

Adding severson as a replacement to gio is an option, if the cap works. Nick robertson or bobby mcmann can come in for perry at any time

Severson isn't going to be >1.5 million, so the cap definitely does not work.
Robertson and/or McMann are not upgrades as bottom 6 players over the current Leafs (ZAR, Kerfoot, Kampf).

I know, you would have to shed some cap elsewhere in the lineup in order to make it work
