He probably would, but when you've got a lot of young talent on your roster like Anaheim does or will soon have, throwing OS's around is not a great idea.

NYR are going to completely stunt the kids potential at the rate they're going.

If we landed him, I'd put him with Zegras and Terry, that line needs a power forward.

While I admit, this is better than mine, Dumba isn't taking that much of a paycut. I think the Ducks could give him the Klingberg contract. 1 year $7 million, Trade him at deadline for a possible 1st round 2024 pick and retain 50%.

I wouldn't offer Martinez anything, nor would I give Vegas any picks after they screwed us over with Dadanov. I'd rather give a 6th or 7th to Boston for Forbort.

Lastly, I'd get rid of Comtois and Carrick and not re-sign Shatttenkirk.

We need a long term top 4 RHD, we would sign Dumba to term, the Klingberg deal is a mistake waiting to happen, and we don't need it to hit the salary floor.

And yeah, first rule of Cap friendly street smarts, don't trade with NYR or TML, their fans are never satisfied with the return.

What would you propose a long term salary for Dumba? Minny's last contract with him was $6 million. I for sure think he would want more, question is how much more and for how long?

He might want more, but fact of the matter is, he hasn't been a $6 million defenseman for 4 of the 6 years he has been on that deal. His market value is probably around 4, I'd give him a 5x5.

Minnesota probably offers him 5.5 for 6 years then. They would definitely do what they can to try and keep him. After this next season, a couple other players contracts are up, like Zuccarello and that opens up more cap space for them. Ducks would probably have to go through a bidding war with Minnesota if they want Dumba.

Minny can’t afford him. Also he hasn’t played at the level of 6 mill. 4 is right market value. 5 if teams are desperate

Minnesota only has 8 million in cap space next year but only has 15 players signed for next season. They need to sign 5-7 more players, they don't have money for Dumba, and he is not part of their future.
