Description
"But that'll block Savoie and Kulich" Nope. If they make the team it should be in a top 9 role. Plays out as follows:

If Kulich OR Savoie make the team, bump Krebs to 4th line and make Mittelstadt 3C. Iafallo or Nino fill out top 6. Rousek/Jost/Greenway battle for 11/12th forward spots.

If BOTH make the team, Rousek is back in Rochester. Same adjustments as above with Jost/Greenway fighting for 12th spot.

Alt forward lines shown in special teams groupings. (Not signing Jost let's you keep Girgs or Okposo, or if you don't include Nino in the trade)

They're worth more to the Jets than they would get in a trade, so not good targets for Buffalo.

So you're good moving your Vezina goalie in a rebuild move, but want to keep the other 2 rentals to try to compete? Not trying to get anything for Dubois, Sheiffle, Wheeler before they all walk too?

Don't think I would add another 1st for 1 year of Hellebuyck. Idk if I'd want to extend him... but if there's a deal in place under $8mill for 3 years... I'd think about another 1st

Helly In Buffalo is a nice idea with a tandem with Levi, I’m not completely sold on Levi, he seems a little undersized to get to elite, but may have a saaros type abilities, definitely technically sound and all the reflexes. But probably 4 years ish til you need to pay him, so possibly work as a tandem depending on helly ask of term and money.

Not necessarily. You still need players to fill out the roster for the year and NN and DeMelo would fetch a 2nd or so at the TDL. So, why trade then earlier and not get anything extra. Might as well just play them.

But if you're going that route, then why would the Jets want a struggling 24 YO defenseman and an expensive 28 YO winger? They'd want picks and ELC's.

You're explanation is that you want the Jets to downgrade and make the Sabres better, but not give the Jets anything for doing that. It's simply not how trades work.
