The Leafs aren't any better with PLD and Hellybyuck than with Marner and Samsonov. And expecting the Leafs to add two first?

2 years of Marner and 2 late 1st doesn't get Pierre-Luc Dubois and Connor Hellebuyck. And even those two couldn't save that team.

WPG is not retaining on Helly and need Samsonov into the deal. Most importantly, the Laffs would have to retain 50% on Marner. He's worth $5M - $6M tops.

Jets and leafs aren’t good trade partners, if leafs are buying the jets possibly do some selling, but jets can’t add any of the big 4, none of them make sense, no term and not a great chance of extensions. So a third team would be needed, unless it’s a empty the leafs cupboard of prospects or picks for rentals.
