Still trying to contend for the playoffs while adding assets for the next core:

Essentially 14 oa & Pickering beats 13 oa that Buffalo is offering.

Adding Pickering means there is no room for Heinola so we balance the prospect pool with the Jackets that have Peeke, Jiricek, boq and Ceulmans as rhd.

Pld is too valuable to lose for nothing so we deal him to a Seattle team that is ready to compete now to allow Wright another year of seasoning.

If there is an opportunity to trade for a ppg young winger that doesn’t yet have trade protection we need to make that happen. Assuming Arizona want pretty much futures and do t want any real cap coming back. 2 - 1sts in this years draft, a Russian under contract in the KHL one more year, and 2 former 1st round picks in Stan and Ves.

Detroit trade could happen or not…. I was just looking to give Chisholm a look on the back end so when Pickering comes in for Dillon the following season we don’t have 2 rookies on the bottom pair.
