Next Year 2

Created by: Jupa08
Team: 2023-24 Boston Bruins
Initial Creation Date: May 22, 2023
Published: May 23, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
- 1 mil cap increase
- Bergeron comes back/ Krejci doesn't

**Trades**
- Forbort: Last time I had Forbort for a 3rd, that was too high, Id honestly do it for a 6th or 7th. He's a good penalty killer/ bottom 4 defenseman. We shouldn't have to pay to get rid of him.
- Ullmark: again, don't want to trade Ullmark but it makes sense for both sides given Edmonton is able to move Campbell. I think last time I had two 2nds and Broberg for him which was a little much. a 2nd and Bourgault seems fair I think? Boston gets a prospect that has played Center and Edmonton gets its goalie to pair with Skinner.
- Gryzelcyk: I've seen him go to Columbus in a couple of different posts and it's gotten generally accepted. For the record, I don't think he should've been scratched in the playoffs.
- Jones: I was just going through RFA's of different teams and his name stood out. I've liked the player and The Rangers have Miller, Lindgren, Hajek, and Robertson as options of the left side maybe a possibility they could look to move Jones. I have reservations about if Ahcan can play a regular role in the NHL and Jones has higher potential.

Additional Details:
Is this fair value? What would he make on his next contract? Seems like he could be a cheaper replacement for Gryzelcyk or 7th defense option that can move the puck.

I think most Rangers fans like Jones, he just has had a harder time cracking the line up due to the coaches going with a bigger, more defensive guy. I would love to see him play now that we are going to have a new coach.

His contract would definitely be less than 1.2, probably closer to like 800k tbh

Agreed. He certainly ranks higher than Hijack and Robertson imo. The ACGM in me has wild idea of trading Miller for copious amounts of picks/players whatever and giving Jones more playing time. Sign Mikkola cheaper than you would Miller.

Yeah, Miller is such an intriguing player. If you asked me last off season, I would say he should be locked up long-term as he is going to be a star. After this season, I am not so sure. I am not sure if Trouba is weighing him down or what the case is. I don't hate the thought process, even though it is unlikely!

You don’t need to include the bonus overage, capfriendly automatically includes them.

Like your signings and trades, but how can the Bruins off load 15M cap and not resign one of their three deadline aquisitions???
