To the rescue? Unless he has learned for his mistakes from the Leafs.....he's just going to be another poor recycled GM. He was poor as Leaf GM. But I doubt he would make as many bad UFA signings as proposed in this post.

Rather than a 7th back from AZ, bring Curtis Douglas. Now there's something the Pens don't have enough of, haha.

Just look at the facts. Has left the Leafs with a barren farm system. The only draftees he has the Leafs are Marner, Liljegren, the late arriving Knies and emergency replacement Woll Has traded away good picks till 2026. Poor contracts negotiator.

Team has been a 100+ point team in the regular season for most of his tenure.

He is constantly making trades/acquisitions to try and improve the team and also appease the ****head media in Toronto.

No GM is perfect, but that guy has been trying to load up that team to make a run for the cup for years, transforming them from a top heavy offense only team to one of the better defensive teams at 5v5 this year. He's constantly making adjustments from a management perspective. Maybe the Tavares contract is a bit brutal but to he was poor is gross. This team was trash when Phaneuf and Kessel were on it. Dubas turned them into a top team in the league every year. At some point your players need to show up in the playoffs and it ain't all on the GM.

I'll disagree. Lou helped clear up the mess that Nonis and Burke left., not Dubas. I certainly wouldn't say Dubas turned them into a top team, the pieces were there when Lou was dismissed.
Maybe you're right about the playoffs......but many of late season acquisitions, didn't help at all.....and that's on Dubas, and now the prospect are barren and the future draft have few top picks.

What nonsense about making trades/acquistions to appease the Toronto media. The Toronto media is very soft on their teams and players. Not denying that Dubas tried to make changes to improve the team, but he did for the team and himself not the media. He just wasn't that good at it considering the pieces that were place when Lou left.
