No we can afford it thats just not enough compensation for it to be taken

But in general we dont really want a dead deal rn

Can they? You’d definitely know more than I would lol. My assumption was that the Leafs couldn’t for the same reason you posted — they want to avoid dead deals.

Leafs have more cap space than a lot of people presume 9.5mill is because of Muzzin

But Muzzin's NHL career is done so rn they got slightly over 14mill (Once he goes to LTIR or is moved to help a bottom feeder reach the floor). Murray retires or we do a Mrazek trade that jumps to around 20mill

They got cap to use this year
