Close but no because OTT dosent get enough for DeBrincat alone let alone Branstrom to a 29-30th pick Martin Necas very good player and Ryan Suzuki solid prospect just not a big enough return. Love the idea tho

Sorry, but you're wrong. Debrincat demands huge $$$ immediately. Necas is as good, for 1/3 the cost and is still an RFA coming off a 3M deal. Brannstrom is a serviceable 5/6, and very unlikely to be anything else.. Suzuki may or may not hit. But you have more upside with the Carolina players, and for them to add a first is crazy.

Necas is going to be up there in cap hit once he signs a new contract. He will be looking for upwards of 7.5 million a year is he keeps this pace and more than that if he exceeds. Debrincat and Aho would look good together.

Brannstrom would be a nice fit in Carolina considering they have the defensemen to insulate defensively. Would be a cheap option run the second powerplay.

The canes are in win now mode and can do without the first round pick this year. Majority of their core won’t be around by the time the prospect develops.

Debrincat adds 9M in cap next year. And the Canes biggest need right now is someone between the pipes. I see Debrincat for Necas as a lateral move. They need to add, not move sideways. And honestly, I don't think Branny makes that team. Coghlan is better than him, and he couldn't crack the lineup last year. Suzuki also has higher upside than Branny, which means CAR adding a first is a big overpay
