Probably not the OTT 2nd, but you're onto something. Tell ya what, drop the OTT 2nd, then a handshake deal to take Myers for FC's after his bonus is paid, and you got a deal.

At that point, we could flip him for something(like a 6th, maybe a 5th at best). He's a veteran right shot d and could be a cheap add to a team that needs a depth d-man.

Sure. I certainly think it is possible VAN could find someone who thinks Garland has positive value, but that team won't be CHI. Also, even after Myers bonus is paid, he still has a $6M cap hit. Any team looking for "veteran depth dmen" will likely be a team with eyes on the playoffs, and most of those teams will be looking for affordability under the cap as well. There are much better ways contending teams could utilize $6M in cap space. Maybe CHI could broker a Myers trade, though. But I doubt that would be lucrative enough for them to burn a retention slot on.
