Have fun with your 2 legit top 6 wingers. Might as well go into rebuild mode.

Canucks had a top 13 offense in the league. I think they are just fine

You left out the word "good"...you are missing good wingers

You know what is worse than our wingers? Our prospect pool and defense core. If you think the wing is a priority, you’re thinking wrong.

There seems to be this misconception by Canucks fans that he is just another winger. He would be the #1 or #2 winger on the team. Just because you have a lot of not so good wingers, doesn't mean you don't get a good one.

Konecny is not a game changer for the Canucks. Look at the defense core. That needs fixing up before their forwards which already are very good

Getting a useful player for a useless player doesn't make sense?

Not at the expense of a top 12 pick in a front loaded draft when the Canucks have a bottom 5 prospect pool

You think W is your strongest position? Having a logjam of meh doesn’t make you strong. As for your Flyers comparison, it’s a false equivalency. Where is the $6 mil cap dump?

We certainly don't have a logjam of meh wingers. Here's our depth chart.

Kuzmenko: 39 G - 35 A - 74 PTS in 81 GP (0.91 PPG)
Boeser: 18 G - 37 A - 55 PTS in 74 GP (0.74 PPG) Note that these numbers were put up in what every is calling a major down year
Mikheyev: 13 G - 15 A - 28 PTS in 46 GP (0.61 PPG) Mikheyev put up those numbers while playing with a partially torn ACL before finally deciding to undergo surgery
Beauvillier: 9 G - 11 A - 20 PTS in 33 GP (0.61 PPG)
Garland: 17 G - 29 A - 46 PTS in 81 GP (0.57 PPG)

Beyond those 5 we still have our young prospects in Hoglander and Podkolzin who are both looking at NHL time as well as Joshua and Studnicka who will get NHL playing time. If that's not our strongest position I don't know what is.

Pettersson - Miller is a good 1-2 punch at C, but we don't have any depth beyond that. Dries and Aman slot in as the next guys in the depth chart, but neither are more than a depth forward on most other teams.

Hughes is a great #1 d-man. Hronek can slot in nicely as a #3 on the 2nd pair, but the rest of our defence is pretty much 3rd pair/depth guys.

Demko is a great goalie, but is coming off a down year and an injury. Delia and Martin were our backups last year, posting an .882 and .871 SV% each.

None of those 3 positions are close to our strongest. Winger is by far our best position.

This deal just makes no sense for the Canucks. We need defence, centre depth, and prospects. Winger is the last thing we need. This deal would leave us with the following roster:

Kuzmenko - Pettersson - Konecny
Mikheyev - Miller - Boeser
Beauvillier - Dries - Garland
Joshua - Aman - Studnicka

Hughes - Hronek
OEL
Bear

Demko - Martin

Di Giuseppe - Brisebois

That leaves us with $3 mil to sign a 2nd pair RHD and a 3rd pair LHD, assuming Bear takes $2.5 mil. We can trade Garland to give us $8 mil to sign those 2 defenceman. However, this team is not a contender at all. The defence is weak and there is no depth down the middle. The team is objectively worse than what we could put together otherwise. Not only is the team worse, but we also lose pick 11 in a stacked draft and weaken on of the weakest prospect pools in the league even further.
