Have you heard that Matthews has scored more goals than any player since entering the league? Did you hear that he has averaged OVER 50 goals per 82 games during his career? Why can’t Toronto fans appreciate they are watching a 25 kid become possible the best player in Maple Leaf history?

I might be offside but I’d guess leafs nation wants a Cup - matthews is Joe Thornton 2.0.
Amazing player probably won’t win.
Beniers could be a franchise centre plus you get a top 4 defence in Dunn and replacing picks to move at deadline for real goaltender.
Matthews brings more back than Marner.

Matthews is one of the best hockey talents in the world, but he's also a rental until proven otherwise. I can't see Seattle gutting their roster and trading two cornerstones of the franchise for a rental, no matter how good he is.
