Yeah I know im not good at trades. But three draft picks, a sometimes very reliable backup, serviceable forward depth in Granlund (which will probably be wanted if top guys in WPG are on their way out), and 2 prospects? I don’t think im that far off.
I think that this is both an overpayment and something the Jets say no to. There are lots of interesting pieces here, but the Jets would primarily like a good young player in return. If the Jets lose their only goalie they need to get a guy who can play in a tandem. Add a good young player or prospect and a pick. That's kinda what Winnipeg is looking for.
"But three draft picks deferred one, two and three years, an inconsistent backup who's a UFA, a serviceable forward depth in Granlund (read: cap dump with two years left), and 2 aging out of being called prospects (one an undrafted goalie signed last year and the other a center who can't get NHL games because of his poor skating)... "
Fixed for ya. Bud, I think you know it's quantity well over quality.
