Worrying about Knies and Robertson seems premature, even Braccoian

Have to have them in mind tho, even they do well they will have to pay them at least a few million each. & Broccoian?

Leafs fans (well everyone, but there are far more leafs fans on her than other teams) overrated their prospects. Back in the day leafs fans said bracco was the next nylander, or made him the center piece of trades for say drew Doughty. He never played an NHL game

Ya I agree, I do remember him being hyped up, but regardless I’d say there’s a good chance at least one of Knies / Robertson winds up being a reliable top 6 forward in the near future. They’ve both looked good in the small amount of nhl games they’ve played.

I think it's pretty realistic to think Knies is going to be pretty good. Looked terrific in his small handful of games. Robertson though I agree with you.

Why are we throwing away Brodie to give Dumba way more than he's worth.

This an absurdly overpay for Dumba in $$$ and term (7m X 7). Why the hate for 2.1m 20 goal scorer Jarnkrok. Micheal Stone on the team?

Here's my issue with the resigning of Matthews and Nylander. Paying those. two guys 4m more collectively.....how does that make the Leafs better. Same players just paying the same guys more,.

Likely more than I would spend but 7 million? Come on, that's way too much. Also Brodie isn't at all a cap dump. Guys a really good defenceman.

Why? Because they are the best players in the team! You aren't replacing what they do with 2 guys making the same amount as Matthews or Nylander you don't. The best FA's will be older, far worse and want term as they are aging. Let them go and replace with 4 players making the same as Nylander and Matthews make will leave you older and worse with 4 bad contracts.

Fair enough, maybe the leafs get some kind of return for Brodie… Sign Dumba for whatever you can get him for, I think he’d be great for the leafs as he’s a good dman & a bit of a dirty player

Exactly, resigning them doesnt make the leafs ‘better’ but losing them sure makes a lot worse

Why? I’d rather one of my favourite teams consistently make the playoffs as a top seed than be a Buffalo or Ottawa type team, that’s what will happen if they lose players like Matthews/Nylander/Marner
& ya I agree probably an overpay for Dumba but he was making 6 on his last deal so I doubt he signs for less than that

I wouldn't mind Dumba either but only at the right price. But I don't see why we would trade Brodie?

Why by that logic shouldn't the Caps resign Backstroke, Carlsson and Ovi to raises when their contacts are due.
