  1. Seabrook, Brent
  2. 2025 2nd round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Assuming Seabrook waives, I think it’s a legit consideration because the taxes in Chicago are harsher than in Tampa. Hawks would have to “make him whole” with a front office job.

  1. 2023 3rd round pick (DAL)

Leafs decline. They moved down less when they traded mrazek. Murray is actually a useful goalie

Murray I’d less useful and more costly in real money hence the difference. Also, the Boston pick is 3 slots later than the Toronto pick was last year.

Isles decline, not moving a high pick for 1 yr of Bailey. He will be buried in the minors next year. We will not be trading draft capital to move salary...Been there, done that already and we got screwed (Ladd).

So it’s a later first by three picks but the leafs move down an extra 14 slots because of real money? Chicago is moe of the richest teams in the league. That’s not a problem for them

Real money is a consideration in a business regardless of how successful a team is. The leafs also are limited in who they could send Murray too due to his financial situation. Chicago might be one of the best positioned franchise to take on that contract, but that also means they are one of the only ones who realistically can.
