For what he brings I’m actually ok with this. Glad it’s under 6AAV

Seems like it should be a year or two longer but if you're happy thats all that matters.. lol

What'd you think of the 3-way deal today? Seems weird to me that LA was the team that retained on Provorov.

2 players that were cap dumps a ‘24 2nd and grans I’m ok with.

However I did want to see grans stay with LA but the log jam at RHD have seen players like faber and grans be the ones to go. I would’ve preferred Spence but it is what it is.

What about LA being the team retaining on Provorov? Seems strange to me.

Petersen's cap hit while buried in the AHL was $3.85M.

Provorov's retained cap hit (not able to be buried) is $2.025M.

The Kings essentially paid a 2nd round pick and Helge Grans for 2 seasons of $1.825M in cap relief.

I don't like it.

Sean Walker was not a cap dump. Worst case scenario, someone would have taken him for future considerations.

It just doesn't make sense to me, Walker has one year left at $2.6M, if you waive him and he isn't claimed he's $1.5M of dead cap for one but them retaining on Provorov is $2M of dead cap for 2 seasons, seems like LA got the worst of this entire deal, I get they wanted cap space for other moves but why wasn't Philly the team retaining on their own freaking asset!?!.. lol

Walker is not a bad defenseman. I don't know why everyone thinks he is. He missed substantial time over two seasons due to a fractured face (thanks Dumba) and a torn ACL/MCL, but was still good when he came back this season. His fancy stats were better than Provorov's this season.

There would absolutely be takers for his services. I think he would have returned a 3rd round pick, at the very least.
