sorry boston a late 4th to take on 4mil salary (1 year), AHL/bottom pair/scratch Dman isnt worth it for AZ. maybe a A-/B+ D prospect.

For one, Boston has no leverage to command market rate for Gryz (or Ullmark for the matter) both of which I think are below your proposed values anyway.

Our need at LHD is short term, we don't want to block the way up for our big name prospects, all of whom are entering the AHL this coming season.

Even if we did have a long term need, why invest in Gryz who has no long term cost certainty? There are other targets that make much more sense for the acquisition cost. We have cap space, we can chase a free agent in the 5+ mil range without concern as well.

There's just no reason for Anaheim to spend those picks on Gryz.

Its 3 million, and thats the going rate for cap dumps like that. Arizona has been stockpiling picks for years, and will continue to do so.

the GM acknowledged they have too many picks (way more than contracts/reserves limits allotment) and said they plan on using the picks to improve positioning - my guess is couple 3rds and 5ths to get a 2nd etc. GM also said dont see taking on dumps anymore they dont need to, have enough picks and are above the floor. Reilly 4 mil salary = 5 ELCs
