What happens in the next three years when guys need raises, old guys move out and there are no young players in the system to replace them since you traded all the picks away?

Not sure how I or anyone can help you with that.

There's nothing to comprehend. It's pretty straightforward.

Is English a 3rd or 4th language?

In as simple terms as possible... I'm surprised anyone would offer all that for Connor. If they did, WPG would take that deal and run.

Not sure what else I can state that would help.

There is enough money left over next offseason to cover the extensions I have listed plus Seider, Raymond & Berggren.

So we’d have a core of Seider, Raymond, Larkin, Lindholm & Nylander all signed long term.

Rasmussen would be the odd man out with Mazur & Soderblom stepping in by then.

Chiarots deal would be up and it would be possible Copp be moved in the final year or 2 of his deal.

In 3 years exactly, that leaves Kasper, Wallinder, Edvinsson & Connor needing new deals when we’d have upwards of $35-$40m in cap space available.

There’s a quote I go by; “don’t worry until it’s time to worry”. That’s not something that would or should present in issue but, even if it did, it’s something we could handle AND a fantastic problem to have.

Understandable. My thought process (or hope) was that late Edmonton 1st would carry more value in this years draft. I’d def want more for Lindholm and I’m sure they could get it. I’d give up more for sure.

And I thought you were being sarcastic. I'm so accustomed to trolls out here you never know who is genuine unless then state they are being genuine.

Apologies.

Not worth it for the Pens to retain half of Petry's contract for 2 seasons. He's fine 2nd pairing RHD.

Would you expect to get better than #24 overall in this year's draft for Lindholm? I'm not saying he's not worth a bunch but I don't see many teams offering a better pick. Add in #42 this year and probably still a good second next year since this team still has deficiencies. Lombardi just got off a nice 102 points in 67 game season in the OHL. Saying this is a whole bunch of nothing really means you don't know what things are worth. A comparable trade trade is ROR from Buffalo to the Blues in 2018. He got a 2019 1st that ended up being #31 and a 2021 2nd that ended up being #49. He was also signed to term and not a risk of testing free agency. I'm curious as to what you think Lindholm will get and from what team?

I would, Bo Horvat who is not nearly as good as Lindholm just got the 17th OA pick, a top 40-60 prospect and a solid NHL player.

In all fairness that was a “TBD” pick and If islanders finished off the year stronger the pick would have been lower, and that solid NHL player was arguably a cap dump.

Not opposed to moving up that far in the draft from NSH's perspective, but it is dependent on who may be left.

The islanders were in 11th last when they traded that pick, the only way it wasn't falling between 11 and 20 is if they suddenly went on a run like Florida.

Beauvillier wasn't a cap dump either. Vancouver made it clear they were looking for players 25 and under. He's about as much of a cap dump as Sam Girard

Nobody on earth thinks of Sam Girard as a cap dump. 50% of people on this site would consider Beauvillier a cap dump.
