Why is LA adding in a Durzi for Valimaki swap?

Valimaki had similar offensive numbers to Durzi last year and plays on the left side which will need a third player with Edler retiring, and Durzi's contract would've gone over the cap.

Just because LA needs a LHD doesn't give Valimaki extra value. RHD are more valuable than LHD because they are more uncommon. If anything, this is an even swap. More likely, the 4th goes back to LA.

I can see us trading Sean Durzi for Valimaki and the Edmonton third.

That contract for Gabe Vilardi brings him straight to free agency. We'll be bridging him for a little less.
