Acquiring younger players for this season

Description
Vegas selects Brendan Gaunce in the expansion draft.

TRADES;

WPG -- If Trouba still wants to be the clear #1 on a team then the Canucks are a good landing spot for him. The Jets get an excellent defensive D prospect and trade up in the 1st round in exchange.

VGK -- After Vegas stockpiles Dmen and goalies in the expansion draft, they'll look to peddle some of them for futures. Apparently Mrazek was shopped by Detroit and there wasn't much interest, so he could be had for a fairly low cost, and would be good competition for Markstrom for the starter's job in Van.

MTL/NYR -- Three-way trade. NY has said they want a top pair RHD for Stepan, while the Canadiens are obviously not high on Galchenyuk as a top line center (at least not yet). Stepan is the better player right now, and MTL is in win-now mode. The Canucks throw in a 2nd and a 4th to grease the wheels on the trade (the picks could both go to MTL, but I have one to each team as is).

    Derek Stephan and a 4th round pick? Really.... Stephan is a 2Center and cost way too much. Not close to a real deal

    Regarding Stepan trade, yeah that's about right in terms of value but this is where a smart GM has to realize your getting an upgrade at center when it comes down to the specifics of the position with Stepan but in losing Galchenyuk your losing years and actual talent. Not too mention cap space as Stepan 6.5M is way too expensive for what he gives.
