Mayfield will get over $3 million. Other than that this is a very solid team.

Nice ACGM. And the Sharks do accept. Mayfield is a top 4 RHD, you’ll need to increase that to about 3 mil like the above comment says.

i know we shouldn't spend assets like that on a goalie. we can spend money for a guy like hill or andersen for two years until it's levi's crease. or we can go with levi/UPL. UPL won 17 games last season with a funky schedule after being called up. if you tell these kids at the jump, we believe in you two, get ready in the offseason for a 50-30 split, they can handle it. and that allows us a ton of cap space this season. maybe timo meier doesn't want to sign long term and we trade for him because we can qualify him. maybe we do a high two-year offer sheet for a good young player. i just think there was too much growth from UPL to give up on him. if he stayed in the AHL and had a good run, we'd be calling him a good prospect. but because he played well enough to stay up and had ups and downs, we're lower on him? that doesn't make sense to me.

I'm right there with you.
I wouldn't hate getting a proven guy like helly and know that next year you can also bank on a playoff appearance and a possible run.
But long term I would like to know what we have in UPL and would like to keep our 1st this year as it can turn into a top tier player.

I'm done waiting around for young goalies to maybe be good. It's time to make a run and if they dont make the playoffs this coming year this whole plan will come crashing down. And if we can sign Hellebuyck to an extension this is a bargain.
