Shane Wright is leagues behind Austin Matthews. At Shane Wright’s age, Austin already had a 40 goal season under his belt. It’s sad Leaf fans have no idea how good this guy really is.

I’ll assume there won’t be one in place. I heard he’s looking for shorter term to maximize earnings. I feel this a good in between of solid return to keep being good while Seattle gets the best player and a chance to resign him. In place extensions are limited in nhl.

Seattle shouldn't do that for a one year rental. That's an awful signing of Dumba 6m X 6, even Orloov is questionable. Just keep Liljgren , and Patches I way too big of a risk.

As VERY tempting as that would be, confident Francis would pass (and I'm sure there would be better offers for even 1 year of Matthews anyhow!) Seattle is still in toddler stage and enjoying their cap flexibility. Top prospects and picks, and a heart and soul guy in Gourde is too costly for just 1 year return of Auston Matthews.
