IF the pick is traded...

Description
For the record, I absolutely feel that the Flyers should retain their 2nd overall pick and select either Nico or Nolan, depending on what New Jersey decides to do. Since everyone has a Flyers armchair set up this way, and with rumors flying around that Vegas has discussed moving up to the Flyers pick, I decided to mess around with that idea as well. The only feasible way I would consider trading that pick, and I admit it is unlikely that Vegas gives up all of these assets. If they would, I created the players I would take in the draft, although it is unlikely they are signed, I felt like detailing who I would look at taking at the respective picks. This would also give the Flyers significant cap relief to play around with in the free agency. I have flirted with the idea of signing Shattenkirk here because I feel the Flyers have a ton of left-handed defensemen and could use a right-handed defenseman.

Ha. Vegas would be completely insane to take that deal - #2 overall isn't Eichel/Laine, it's Nolan Patrick. Not sure if he has two first names or two last names.

Sure Vegas is going to give you the #15 and #24 picks without giving up any thing, RIGHT. And Vegas is taking Tomas Nosek from Detroit not Petr Mrazek so if you want Mrazek you're dealing with Detroit not Vegas.

And no way is Philly surrendering their #2 pick for Vegas #6 pick Vegas will have to sweeten it a lot more then that.

To be clear, they are not giving them for nothing in return. It is meant to be part of an overall trade of:

Marchessault, Mrazek, #6, #15, #24

in exchange for

#2 (Nico or Nolan), Andrew MacDonald, Matt Read, and Michael Neuvirth

Again, I have admitted in the description it is unlikely they would ever consider this. But if I were the Flyers, the only way I would consider giving up the pick is for significant overpayment like this. That's all I was trying to say. This is not meant to be a scenario that may happen. I believe the Flyers will (and should) keep their #2 pick.

Not sure if the guys above me read the whole thing but it's:

#6, #15, #24, Mrazek, and Marchessault

for

#2, Matt Read, Andrew MacDonald, and Michal Neuvirth

Agreed, they would be, I was simply trying to point out that the only way I would trade the #2 overall pick, if I were managing the Flyers, would be for extreme overpayment as this is. It offers the Flyers 3 first round draft choices and huge amounts of cap relief, particularly Andrew MacDonald being removed from the books.
