What I think Adams will do

Created by: mattyag9
Team: 2023-24 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 12, 2023
Published: Jun. 12, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
this isn't necessarily what I would do but what I think is going to happen.

1. sign all RFAs except Pekar
2. Send Bryson down to the minors. He shouldn't see the ice in the NHL this year. If he gets picked up on waivers, it's fine.
3. They trade for Carter Hart. Adams thinks the prices on Hellebuyck and Saros are too much for just 1 or 2 years so he settles on a younger goalie that he can sign long term to play with Levi
4. Sign a veteran forward that has playoff experience in Nick Bonino. He does not have to play too much but when injuries happen he can be a steady presence in the lineup
5. No one bites on olofsson so the sabres keep him. Play him here or there and remains somewhat productive. (Prediction: olofsson will score a huge playoff goal this season)
6. Sign a top 4 d-man in Carson Soucy. This will help the blue line tremendously and he can be paired with Power
7. Kulich makes the team out of camp but if he needs to come out, Olofsson and Bonino can come right in
8. Adams does not part with too many assets and remains patient. Wants to keep his first round pick and most prospects but says this is a year to go to the playoffs. Will make some deadline acquisitions if buffalo is in a place to do so
9. With the 13th overall pick, Buffalo selects: Matthew Wood (Forward)

If you think Hart is going to be traded for an average at best goalie, when we don’t need another goalie, and 1 solid prospect, ur gonna lose your mind when you see what Briere actually wants for him lol. It’s around double this value.

Here’s the thing. Flyers don’t have to move Hart. He ais young, Hart is an RFA, we can get more watching him elsewhere and just taking the offer sheet comp… most likely gets between 8 and 8.5 a year… which Philly can match but it would probably be a sign and trade.

Philly holds the cards here my guy… his RFA value is built into the deal… it would be nothing short of asinine to assume Danny jumps to trade him for minimum return

Don’t bother I tried to do this yesterday with him, the guy doesn’t think Hart is worth anything

I do imagine hart stays with Philly.
I'm just saying goalies don't have that type of value never have and that's not switching now. All these trades with a lottery pick and a top prospect will never happen.

And not for nothing Hart's biggest attribute is his age. His stats have been league average. Who is trading a package for the 13th beat goalie.

If he does get traded it will be for 2 2nds. Maybe that's not enough and that's fine I don't think there is gonna be a line of people wanting to pay more than that.

The 13th best goalie playing on one of the worst teams in the league while all the best players on the team defensively were out with injury, is kinda interesting.

Plop him in Colorado and they win 70+ games and his stats go top 3

Do I think goalies are worth the return he will get? Probably not, they are key in the game but an AHL goalie is about to win the cup… lol you need a good team and a good system, a goalie is just a cherry on top

Carter Hart is like the 24th best goalie in the league. His Save percentage was 34th in the league last year, Goals Saved Above Expected per 60 was 24th in the league last year (min 5 games), GAA was 41st, and GAA above expected was 25th. He's not that good dude. It's an upgrade over our crappy goaltending but he's not elite or anything. He's average maybe a little above average but not much more than that.
