Do Devils fans think Meier will sign for that much lower than his QO? With the cap going up and being a year away from UFA, I feel like he might not want to sign that deal. Wouldn't he rather just take 10M this year, and then go to market with the cap going up next year?

Fair enough. But if it does go to arbitration and goes down to 8.5m, then no one will be happy. I still think Meier has more leverage than you are letting on since he can be a UFA next year and the cap is projected to go up. If he likes playing for NJ, I could definitely see him signing at 8.75x8 though. I was just curious what NJ fans thought.
