Idk, comrie is a cap dump, UPL sucked last year, and olofsson wasn't resigning. The only big pieces are mittelstadt, a 1st, and a 2nd. Hellebuyuck is vezina caliber and mittelstadt only had the one good year.

Scheifele gets a lot of hate. At 5 mil and the potential of 40+ goals he's maybe not an improvement on Necas, but a solid 2nd line center behind Aho.

scheifele doesnt play defense and is a locker room problem. canes will be one of the last organizations he gets interest from.

Would rather give Kotkaniemi his development time. Schiefele is a great offensive player, but Kotkaniemi's MONSTER defensive skill is just a more favorable matchup. Jordan Staal will be 3C because I think Rod would rather get fired than move him. Plus, that defensive upside. Schiefele's garbage defense is a big problem, and for a team that plays defense first, he's a bad fit.

Sabres don't need to dump cap, UPL is at worst a young NHL backup, ollofsson is probably worth a second. Mitts isn't going anywhere and 13oa isn't being traded for a ufa goalie that isn't a fit for buffalo

I would Love to see a realistic offer for Hellebuyck. No way Buffalo is giving 13 for possibly 1yr. Especially after they basically got on the knees to sign Levi.
