Description

Canes empty the cupboards a bit to bring in some solid reinforcements. Vejmelka is solid and can be a workhorse. TK bolsters our depth and provides some secondary scoring. This plan is based on one of Pono/Rees/Suzuki and Lajoie making the step into the NHL, but if that doesn't work out, the Canes have $10m in cap space to spend now or more at the deadline. or we can use that to lure Nikishin from Russia

way i see it is you get 2 years of a good player but no team control and the cap hit isn't low. I'm not sure how many takers there will be for that. contenders can use TK for the next 2 years but likely don't have the cap space. rebuilders and teams on the bubble could afford Philly's price but wouldn't move all that much for someone they potentially lose in 2 years

Flyers can literally make TK a 2.75M player with 50% retention for the right price, teams just have to pay up. A TK deal especially with 50% retention starts with Morrow or Nikishin and goes from there
