I agree, but most likely not the Toronto way of doing it anymore + the expectation of cap going up would probably have the guys willing to take a bit less for a year or two, to get the more money after term is up either in Toronto or somewhere else 🤔 just my thought to it. Also Schenn most likely will not be nowhere near a top 6 D-man in two-years time with cap going up and Toronto getting off JT and hopefully investing the money a bit more spread to cover D aswell. Could argue Acciari to get a 3x2m maybe.

Flyers and Marner aren't a fit given Philly's rebuild status and Marner's expensive contract. Marner is a fantastic player but his value will dip if he's on a bad team. Tip and Frost are viewed as pieces of the future who are both more cost controlled.

If the Flyers want Marner they can push for him in free agency when the team should be moving back to at least wild-card status.
