The K´Andre Miller contract is not close to his actual value. The Rangers have a real cap issue when it comes to filling out their roster for next season. With roughly $12 in cap space the need to make some tough decisions. Millers growth in production over the last three seasons along with his age would easily put him at a contract somewhere in the range of $5.5-6.5 million depending on the term. Im thinking the contract would ultimately be around $6 million over 3-4 years. Given that deal this would leave the Rangers with $6 million in cap space to fill 6 more roster spots. If the Rangers wait im afraid Miller is a prime candidate for an offer sheet at $6 million. The compensation for that is only a 1st and 3rd round pick this year.

He obviously won’t get that much money if the contract isn’t eating into a significant number of free agent years. That’s how these contracts work.

In 3 years trouba is up then key can get paid. he wants to be in NY and 4 mill for 3 is a safe bet on your self to get paid. there's more to signing a contract than just money and term

That´s not how this works. What world are you living in? I would be stunned if a player signs a deal for significantly less than he is legitimately worth. Players want to get paid period. You have teams around the league dying to get a hold of players like Miller. Now thats not to say that players dont take less sometimes to be where home is or play for a specific team. In most cases this doesnt happen.

Without the benefit of arbitration rights, Drury holds the hammer.

Vincent Z. Mercoglioano places “the absolute floor” for Miller’s next contract at three years and $3 million per (the same as Ryan Lindgren signed in 2021)

Rasmus Dahlin’s $6 million AAV in Buffalo is a reach, so something in the $4 million to $5 million ballpark would make sense

You are putting to much worth on his upside rather than what he has actually done.
