And what would make them? I’ve seen several buffalo fans proposing Jensen trades but not with mittlestadt involved
Not with CM? Why would the Sabres trade mitts for a 33 year old dman?
Agreed Mitts is the highest scoring player on the Sabres they arent going to trade him for spare parts.

No chance this gets it done. Mittelstadt is a consistent center on a team lacking consistency. The Sabres have something that most teams covet and thats three true centers. They havent had this 2006-07. They would be fools to trade it away especially to a team like Tampa and bail them out of salary cap jail. Additionally, who wants draft picks so far down the road.

Stop lying to yourself. Swayman is not signing for the pathetic contract. Teams are desperate for goalies in this league someone will offer sheet him and make him their starter if you arent willing to pay him what he is actually worth.

That´s not how this works. What world are you living in? I would be stunned if a player signs a deal for significantly less than he is legitimately worth. Players want to get paid period. You have teams around the league dying to get a hold of players like Miller. Now thats not to say that players dont take less sometimes to be where home is or play for a specific team. In most cases this doesnt happen.

The K´Andre Miller contract is not close to his actual value. The Rangers have a real cap issue when it comes to filling out their roster for next season. With roughly $12 in cap space the need to make some tough decisions. Millers growth in production over the last three seasons along with his age would easily put him at a contract somewhere in the range of $5.5-6.5 million depending on the term. Im thinking the contract would ultimately be around $6 million over 3-4 years. Given that deal this would leave the Rangers with $6 million in cap space to fill 6 more roster spots. If the Rangers wait im afraid Miller is a prime candidate for an offer sheet at $6 million. The compensation for that is only a 1st and 3rd round pick this year.

Ny Rangers REAL
The contract you built for K´andre Miller is no where near accurate at all. I get that you want him to remain on your team but there is a price to pay for players that are young and productive. Talent requires investment. His production alone last season will guarantee him a minimum contract of most likely $5 million a year for 3-4 years. Frankly, hes probably worth $6 million given his age and leap in production from last year to this year. If not i would fear an offer sheet on a player like Miller. The only compensation the Rangers would get at a contract of $6 million is a 1st and 3rd round picks. Miller is probably worth more than that in a trade. Given the Rangers cap situation a cap hit of $6 million would really put them in a bind when it comes to filling out the rest of the roster.

Sabres say no that makes the defense way to top heavy cap wise. Additionally, plenty of free agent defenseman who the Sabres can negotiate a contract with that is far more reasonable. Lastly, with the free agent defenseman we dont have to give up draft picks and Jokiharju.

Sabres need to make playoffs
I agree the Bruins decline. I am pretty sure they are going to sign him in the off season. Additionally, with Matt Murray he already declined going to the Sabres once he clearly does not want to play for Buffalo. If Buffalo is going to trade for a goalie it is going to be someone who is a veteran guy who is proven to and can take 50 games or so. Swayman is not that guy right now. Lastly, i think it is in Buffalo´s best interest to keep their first round pick this year as this is a strong talented draft class. I think Buffalo may even want to take the opportunity to move up as they have a plethora of assets to do so.

Why in the world would Colorado do this? Bennett is not even close and the rest of the deal is a waste. Toews is a legitimate top defenseman in this league you cannot offload your spair parts for him. Colorado got a steal when they traded for him they are not going to simply let him go for this deal.

Its clear to me that Andersson is a puck moving defenseman and not necessarily the guy we want with Power. I would pair Graves with Power and shift Power to the Right side. I think Graves will get a larger boost in free agency as New Jersey has cap room if he wants to stay put. I would make that number 5 million. Additionally, why would he come to Buffalo as a free agent to play on the third line when he can easily just stay in New Jersey on the second line for more money.

Its very possible. The Sabres also had that losing streak in November after losing Samuelsson. I just have a hard time seeing the Canucks as currently constructed getting the job done but hopefully im wrong i would hope they get better truthfully. I just know the Sabres if they are smart will not settle on simply rolling Levi and either Comrie or UPL . They have got to go and get some veteran goaltender to get this team over the hump.

Nope. Olofsson is a flawed player that much is true but a player that can score is worth far more than a player that cannot score.

If Vancouver was in a rebuild, then trading a cap dump player like Myers makes no sense either.</div></div>
I 100% agree this team is not making the playoffs without Demko, it is also not making the playoffs with him. This team has been middling at best for years. The Sabres were worse than middling and finally decided to pull the band-aid off. It was clearly the right decision in Buffalo as we were 1 point out of a playoff spot. Honestly, i think Vancouver needs to do the same. Maybe Myers was the wrong target and maybe Boesner would be better.

Sabres absolutely pass on this. This trade makes absolutely no sense. Why would the Sabres give up a player that scored 28 goals and our first round pick position for two below average 1st round players who have proven nothing in the NHL and the 20th pick? I get that you are trying to be optimistic with this but this is not going to happen.

If the Sabres are trading away Risto then they can protect Borgan, Joki, and Dahlin on defense in the expansion draft. Your not the only person who is making this mistake. Buffalo does not have to butter up Seattle in any way shape or form unless they are trying to get Okposo or Skinner. The most likely loss for Buffalo will be Collin Miller or Asplund.

I agree 100% on Jenner i know he isnt a throw in hes one of my favorite players from the Blue Jackets. I targeted him thinking on an expiring contract given that a right handed defenseman is far more valuable than a goalie but, that may just be my opinion and not actual market value. Thoughts?

What I would do
Ok i'll just work with the Seattle piece here. Buffalo will give up one player to Seattle it will probably be Colin Miller. If you like the rest of the Sabre fan base want Eakin gone the Sabres simply need to buy him out and take the 500,000 cap hit this season. Simple as that. No need to give Seattle a free 3rd round pick.
As for the Ristolainen trade, Buffalo already has draft picks we don't need them back. Trade Ristolainen for Korposolo and a gritty 3/4 line player like Boone Jenner to even out the salary exchange then give them either Girgensons or a pick in return to even the trade out. Both Korposolo, Risto, and Jenner have 1 year left on their deals basically both sides get to test drive these pieces and give them deals if it works out.
