Offseason
Value is probably right, but i think they hang on to krebs. Theres a lot of good game there and he's barely been used in his proper role yet. Plus idk how much an extra first means to us right now. Probably more likely to spend the one we have to add a piece imo.

No. Sabres aren't adding Borgen, Patrick is not that valuable, and filling out a trade with picks is not interesting

What I would do
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>speedaj01</b></div><div>Ok i'll just work with the Seattle piece here. Buffalo will give up one player to Seattle it will probably be Colin Miller. If you like the rest of the Sabre fan base want Eakin gone the Sabres simply need to buy him out and take the 500,000 cap hit this season. Simple as that. No need to give Seattle a free 3rd round pick.
As for the Ristolainen trade, Buffalo already has draft picks we don't need them back. Trade Ristolainen for Korposolo and a gritty 3/4 line player like Boone Jenner to even out the salary exchange then give them either Girgensons or a pick in return to even the trade out. Both Korposolo, Risto, and Jenner have 1 year left on their deals basically both sides get to test drive these pieces and give them deals if it works out.</div></div>
Korpi-for-Risto is a workable concept, but Jenner isn't a throw-in for us; he's a valuable leader on the team, and one of our few defensively competent centers. Girgensons wouldn't really make up for that loss.

Rehire all new
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>speedaj01</b></div><div>No from Buffalo. If the Eichel deal does not have either Suzuki or Caufield don't waste time putting it together. That is the starting point. In addition, if GM Kevin Adams does not want to see fans picketing in front of the arena next year he will not trade within his own division after the Taylor Hall debacle this year.</div></div>
To be fair, Sabres fans are too checked out to bother picketing no matter what happens.

That Columbus trade would be great for Buffalo, not sure Columbus will do it though. Not sure Seattle goes for the deal either.

Making sense of a Kane Trade?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jordant89</b></div><div>think i see the opposite , Canucks are gonna try to blow it all up not add more vets</div></div>
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sabres89</b></div><div>Id really only be interested in the kane trade if heiskenen was on the board at 5. I like what kane brings, there isnt much appeal to that trade if heiskenen is off the board</div></div>
This is what started as the guys at work talking about Tanev for Kane before the Expansion Draft, which doesn't make sence because we would just loose a forward instead. Kane is 25 yo, and Linden still wants wins to sell tickets.

Sabres might take that deal, especially if we swap #8 for #5 pick!! Subban is a nice prospect, and there is familiarity with Sutter & Botterill from Pittsburgh. Both teams benefit here, and I like this deal alot for the Sabres. The best part is it pretty much guarantees the Sabres to draft either Heiskenan or Makar with the 5th pick. We give up Kane, which sucks, but we get 2 very good defensive prospects in return in Subban and Makar/Heiskanen.

Overall, I think you did pretty well in terms of value except for the Arizona trade. Duclair really struggled last year, which can probably be attributed to a sophomore slump, but the Coyotes have no intentions on giving up on him unless a team drastically over pays for him, which, this is not. Ennis is a good player, I watched him play for almost a full season in Portland and I could tell what kind of player he could become, but he doesn't exactly fit the coyotes needs.

I don't see how that NYR deal makes sense for Buffalo. Sure, we get the defeseman in Dillon but Nash isn't good anymore. If it were Kane for Nash and draft picks, that would make more sense. Nor will Nash waive the NTC and NMC for Buffalo.

Kane & 2 picks for Nash is not what our team needs..... That trade should never happen. If you are willing to move those 2 picks you should be able to entice LA or Vancouver to cough up on the D Men we would want....
I do not see the NYI deal working for either team. Would you not be better off taking the 2 picks in the Ranger deal and spice it up and try to land Da Haan from the Islanders. I do not see the NYI dealing Toews since he does not have to be protected in the expansion draft.
SJS is a team that I think will be willing to make a few deals since they have no 2nd, 3rd & 4th round picks in 2017, if they want to bring back Marleau & Thornton bye bye cap space & they are at a point where they need to win 'NOW' as the team is aging.
