Seattle likely has zero interest in DeAngelo given his many warts on the ice and as a person. Probably not even if Philly was giving him away.

Correct the Flyers wouldn’t trade the better player to get back the worse player

What do you expect Krebs to turn into, and do you see him getting top 6 minutes in Buffalo in the near future.

He would not get top 6 minut or PP minutes. But trading him for Laughton, who also wouldn't sniff those minutes is pointless, when you see how good chemistry is between Krebs and rest of the group

I don't need Laughton sniffing as many PP minutes, does a lot of his work at EV and SH.

And I guess this is the role that Krebs will be tested, before Sabres signing him to extension.

He'll be the 3C behind Cozens and Thompson - and valuable because he can slide up or down the center depth chart and on either power play unit when needed. He also is showing that he'll embrace the gritty pest and be as good a playmaker as Mittelstadt yet still defensively aware and responsible.

Maybe, but then where does mittelstadt go?

Ideally Laughton plays all 3 positions and in every situation, and can slide up and down lineup, he brings sandpaper (which BUF has but most of it is on 4th line) and leadership to a fairly young group. He put up 40+ pts on a team that cant score, and is on a great contract. Krebs for Laughton is pure win for BUF, as Laughton on the open market is probably worth a 1st and maybe more, Im not sure Krebs has that value yet, or will based on his minutes. But thats not the offer, and that really upgrades Krebs beyond what hes been so far and doesn;t look at whether Laughton might be the better fit with these young forwards.

And Krebs with the present roster is 3C at best, and the way Mittelstadt played last year with Cozens and Thompson ahead of him, Krebs is probably 4C. BUF, imo, have quite a few forward prospects and young forwards, and can deal from strength. A high 2nd (useful at TDL) and a solid LD/RD prospect who seems to be knocking at the NHL door (stuck behind provorov, sanheim, york, seeler at LD in PHI) seems pretty fair value. Just not sure Krebs, who might have a bigger upside than we've seen, gets the playing time in BUF to be more).

We shall see, Laughton is the better Hockey player right know and probably will be for the foreseeable future if Krebs doesn't get more than 4th line minutes.
