Description
So the goal of this off season will be to make the team faster all over the ice. I start out by making the trade with Carolina. I want to credit sabres1108 for this trade. This provides stability at defense with Hanifin and gives the Sabres a short term 2nd line center in Rask until Mittelstadt is ready to take the position.

Next, the Sabres trade with the Rangers provides the Rangers with a left handed defenseman that they need and the Sabres with some speed on the left wing. I was not overly impressed with Kreider's season last year but that said he has talent and lots of speed.

Ottawa has no choice now but to move Hoffman given the latest news stories. This reminds me a lot of the situation that the Sabres faced with Evander Kane to some degree but Hoffman will not be moved for nothing. The 1st round pick is obviously a given in this trade. In additon, Girgensons provides the Senators an additional option at left wing. I did not want to give up Bailey. I think he is going to be a strong player down the line but its gotta happen in order to get a player of Hoffman's caliber. It might even take more like McCabe but i wasnt about to do that until i was told the trade was completely crazy.

Next, i realize that Nylander is going to take time to develop but the problem is he is not even close to ready for the NHL yet. Watching him in Rochester was a struggle at best. In the meantime, Buffalo can upgrade with Milano. I cant wait to see him paired up with Mittelstadt.

Lastly, in order to clear the decks and give Beaulieu an opportunity with a team that he would probably be more successful on the trade with Pittsburg occurs. Pittsburg is great at fixing defenseman just like Beaulieu they have done it before and i see them doing it again here.

In net i see Ullmark being given an opportunity with the big club but he is going to need a goal tender behind him that can step up if he struggles in comes Bernier.

Overall, the Sabres overhaul the defense and wing positions to fix the offense and defense and hopefully did not have to give up to much of the youth movement to do it. Tell me what you guys think so i can modify and improve this roster.

Milano>Nylander.

At least Milano can make the NHL.... night not play much but can at least make it. Nylander isn’t his brother sorry.... hard pass from Columbus. If you want it to happen, it’ll take more then a third for that upgrade.

I don't want to see Hoffman in Buffalo if this news is true and he stays with his girlfriend.
