CBJ
  1. Eichel, Jack
  2. Ristolainen, Rasmus
  3. 2021 2nd round pick (BUF)
Additional Details:
The Kings are now rumored to be not interested in Eichel and the Rangers under Drury are rumored to not be interested in blowing up the farm for Eichel which leaves the top remaining contenders as CBJ, Minnesota, and Calgary.

The Rangers made a solid offer last summer with John Davidson and Jeff Gorton in their front office and with Davidsson back in Columbus, he certainly has some insight on Eichel. Couple that with Jarmo and his willingness to be aggressive and the fact that when fully healthy, Columbus actually has some talent up front that could be instantly elevated with Eichel. Jarmo also sounded like at the end of the season like he will attempt to use a first rounder or two to make additional upgrades immediately. Seth Jones will ask be traded which will help them recoup some lost assets they spend on Eichel.

Ristolainen is also included as a stop gap defenseman that they can plug in as a top four D, since I suspect Columbus will try to compete next year, especially if they are moving for Eichel.

Conditional draft picks based on re-signing are no longer allowed under the new CBA MoU.

If the Sabres are trading away Risto then they can protect Borgan, Joki, and Dahlin on defense in the expansion draft. Your not the only person who is making this mistake. Buffalo does not have to butter up Seattle in any way shape or form unless they are trying to get Okposo or Skinner. The most likely loss for Buffalo will be Collin Miller or Asplund.

Getting fleeced by Seattle. Too little for Eichel and Reinhart.

Only objection to that Eichel trade from the Jackets' perspective is that I'm not sure if we're going to try to do that immediate bounceback thing. It'd require quite a bit go right with the blueline as well.

Absurd overpay for one year of Reinhart, which is all that can be committed to. Thomas and the two seconds are about right. We're not trading either the 2021 first or the 2022 first for him.
