Mikheyev has injury issues and is a 3LW, not need to trade this for him.

Mikeyev isn't going anywhere he fills exactly what the Canucks need and he was great with Pettersson and Kuzmenko

GMs are going to GM but last season was so bad for OEL. Hard to see someone paying 3 million after that season.

If Ryan Suter got nearly 4 x $4m after being bought out, then I wouldn't be surprised to see some GM give OEL $3m over like 2 years cause they think they can get him back to his former self.

Suter’s last year in Minnesota was bad for almost 8 million a year but it wasn’t close to half as bad as OEL’s just was. It could happen but the defensive market is decently deep for bottom pair defenders this year.

Suter certainly was a better player in the final year of his deal. However, all it takes is one GM to think highly of him for him to get overpaid. OF the 31 GM's out there, chances are at least one of them will overpay for a veteran defenceman who could bounce back in the right situation and become a steal of a deal.

Value for Mikheyev is fair, however he was easily one of Canucks best players last season and another full season on Petey's line is only going to pump his value further.
