Unless Dubois is going to swallow his pride and is signing for a lot less than reported, still doesn’t make sense for the Kings. I don’t think this team is any better than last years.

Durzi is someone the Jets value, but that's it. The 2024 1st is going to be a late 1st and too far away. Get us a 1st round pick in this upcoming draft to make the deal.

I wouldn't give up that haul for PLD. 1st and Durzi is the most I'd give, and that's if he agrees to a reasonable extension in advance (i.e. less than $8M).

Fiala wasn’t a sign and trade. Teams now my want the sign and trades if everyone agrees. I can see PLD doing a sign and trade to the team of his choice.

I don’t think you know who Kaliyev is as a player. Kid respectfully has 27 points in 82 games 2 seasons ago and 28 in 56GP this year 13G he improved. Unfortunately he got hurt. He has a limited role due to TMacs incompetence keeping him on the 4th line and he’s a PP threat. Put him in a top 6 role he’ll double his numbers. I’d put money on that.

What's the difference between a sign and trade and a trade with an extension worked out in advance?

I'm sure the Kings will make several moves to fit PLD if a trade can be worked out, but unless the prices come down significantly, both on the trade and on the extension, PLD isn't coming to LA.

Valid point - I've never heard of Kaliyev . Had to check him out and still saw nothing of value. But if you say he's playing low minutes on a 4th line, then who knows. If he's anywhere near as valuable as you state, then worth asking around about him and looking back at the offer.
