WASHINGTON retains salary so that both salaries are identical.

*Both players are on expiring deals

WASHINGTON gets the better sniper and player. He could have a very good season playing with better players and also be a trade chip at the deadline if the team is out of the playoffs.

MONTREAL gets the younger, bigger body and "never reached his potential" FRENCH player and takes this final chance he finally turns his career around...

AND most importantly both teams exchange these "No Longer Wanted" players !

Thing don't look good for Hoffman Hughes can't even ask for an low pick, he even told that he will freely give Hoffman but he's still not moving.

The only way I see Washington taking Hoffman on is because they will save money over Mantha so they wouldn't keep salary if the trade go on.

While Mantha is a more better player overall then Hoffman he cost more money in the end Washington might do this to save few bucks but I'm pretty sure both of them are stuck with they respective team.
