Description
The leafs need to suck it up for two more seasons. Lock up Matthews and Marner. Sign Nylander on a shorter term no trade clause. Trade Nylander when Tavares contract expires. Just fill in gaps like they have been doing.

If Winnipeg were to accept that deal. Would they also be willing to retain some Helle contract?

Uhhh no thanks on that WPG trade, Woll is our goalie for the future I'd prefer to keep him. Niemela is great and I think he's gonna be a solid D man in a few years. Also, why would you just let Sammy walk? If you don't need him you should at least trade his RFA rights

How is this even a roster with 20 players and no cap.? Leafs are infinitely better have Woll and Samsonov at 5m long term than 6.1m Hellebuyck for one season. Plus you traded two young RHD and. first .
LA doesn't to that deal. Dumba isn't such a great deal at 6.5m X 4.

Leafs shouldn't trading 3.8m X 3 (or whatever) Samsonov for 6.1m Hellebuyck straight up.

Left Sammy open. Just didn’t make a decision on him. It wasn’t my final squad. Just wanted to send out that trade for comments.

I have trouble putting Helly on a team this summer in a trade the Jets would like. A more likely scenario might be closer to TDL when a true contender wants/needs a short term good goalie like Helly for their Cup run.

Los Angeles is not trading one season of $4.2 million Viktor Arvidsson for one season of $5 million T. J. Brodie ($7.5 million in actual cash) when the Kings have Anderson and Gavrikov at LhD and Doughty and Roy at RhD. But Arvidsson for Samsonov is a lively possibility.

LA passes.

Treliving isn't giving up that much for Connor Hellebuyck, As he won't sign long term with any Canadian team period.

Try more like 4 x $4,000,000 for Scott Mayfield. Not that joke of an signing.
