Description
Basically went BPA with a blend of team need
ROUND 1TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-Obvious. Generational player. Watch his shot its insane. Not much to add as basically everything has been dissected and he still blows people away and exceeds expectations.
Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-NHL ready center. One of the best freshman seasons since Jack Eichel. NHL style game and strong two way tendencies. Great addition to a strong forward prospect pipeline
Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-Historic season in the SHL. Pretty much NHL ready and should fill a huge need at center for CBJ. Carlsson has tremendous hockey IQ and is a strong playmaker.
Logo of the San Jose Sharks-The biggest wild card pick which determines the way the draft falls. I think they go with the Fresh Prince. Amazing playmaker with sick hands and electric highlights. Grier's connections and less risk lead to Smith over Michkov
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-With the recent success of Tkachuk in the playoffs Leonard will be highly valued by most GMs. Canadiens take a gamer that makes players around him better. Very good awareness in space with strong production. Fills there want at forward.
Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-Two way center with strong production. Still has a long runway of growth ahead as he always tore apart his peers at youth tournaments. Scouts are really high on his potential.
Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-Flyers stated they want to build from the blueline why not take the #1 ranked defenseman. Very mature, nhl ready game as he already looks like an NHLer playing against men.
Logo of the Washington Capitals-Who knows where he goes. Won't fall past here as Washington takes the next best Russian superstar. Behind the scenes tomfoolery might lead to this pick becoming a reality. Insane skills in the offensive zone only one who comes close to Bedard in the class.
Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Always impossible to predict Stevie Y. Top 5 talent but small frame. Amazing defensive workrate and playmaking abilities. May go Danielson/Moore to get a center but can't pass up on the talent Benson possesses.
Logo of the St. Louis Blues-One of the best skaters i've seen. Could be a top 10 skater in the NHL tomorrow. Sneaky good shot too just needs to slow down some. Blues add an impact center and he adds to team speed.
Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-Late riser on most prospect boards the RHD is a smooth skating defenseman that plays a simple, effective game. Canucks need new blood on the defense. Could go in many different spots. Future pairing with Hughes.
Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Ottawa SenatorsOne of the top blue liners in the draft. Potential PP QB that could be the first blue-liner taken. Always steps up to the competition and has seen his stock explode this past season. Yotes stock up the Dman cupboard.
Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Big scoring power forward. Lit up the NCAA as a freshman at Uconn. Excellent shooter but needs to improve his pace/skating to succeed. Sabres can take there time developing this pick because of the depth of prospect pool. The Russians could be intriguing here as well.
Logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Great shooter. Underrated two way game but needs to work on his positioning and off puck work. Penguins may trade this pick but plan for future with an exciting pick in Yager.
Logo of the Nashville Predators-Nashville wants to take risks/skill and Simashev could end up being the best defenseman of the draft. Crazy physical tools untapped potential. NSH loves there defenseman and the smooth skater will just be another stud D-man on Nashville's roster.
Logo of the Calgary Flames-High floor player with a strong two way game. Models game after Elias Lindholm. Might be long gone by this pick but in this draft the teens have many different options for picks. Flames might blow it up so might need a little bit of everything.
Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the New York IslandersScouted by Yzerman himself. Large imposing forward with great puck protection down low and hands in front of the net. Does everything well. Wings address scoring and forward depth with there first two picks while probably addressing defense in later rounds
Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-Jets select a goal scoring winger that is closer to the NHL than most. Strong leader who played all situations for Owen Sound. With players rumored to be moved out goals will need to be replaced so why not get one of the top scorers in draft. Huge value pick here.
Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningAll time point record holder with the US NTDP. Hawks gamble on his creativity and smarts. Size may have him fall but I still think he gets drafted high based on production alone. Perreault on the wing of Bedard will be scary for opposing teams.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-One of the most naturally talented prospects in the draft. Former no. 1 pick of the OHL he will be a big winger to play alongside Beniers in the future. Great playmaker.
Logo of the Minnesota Wild-Reliable, well-rounded center. Great play driver and toughness. Wild get there biggest need.
Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Los Angeles KingsRaw, talented Swede that looked good during the recent U-18 tournament. Excellent skater and well rounded skillset. Projected all over the place but Flyers can develop him slowly and continue to build C depth. Briere takes 2 premier positions to start his rebuild in Philadelphia.
Logo of the New York Rangers-Fell due to inconsistency. If Rangers can grow his confidence they could unlock a special player. Game breaking talent when on. Speedster with a fantastic shot and good vision.
Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Edmonton OilersSupremely talented but small and a poor skater. NSH takes another gamble with there second pick and hope his production continues to shine. Might be one of the most creative players in the draft.
Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Toronto Maple LeafsRugged, two way defenseman. Defensively sound. Blues need defensive reinforcements and the NHL DNA is strong with his father being a former defender. RHD fills a need
Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the New Jersey DevilsMammoth Russian winger. Tage Thompson 2.0 if he figures it all out. Fantastic wrist shot. Could go higher but I predict he will fall due to Russian factor. Grier wants size and he is the biggest you can get.
Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-Great playmaker who lit up the WHL. Needs to continue to grow stronger off the puck but the playmaking tools are all there. Avalanche need everything so could go anywhere with this pick
Logo of the Toronto Maple LeafsLogo of the Boston BruinsOffensive defenseman. Will fall due to his size and Russian but I think will still be a first rounder. Nobody wants to make the same mistake that GMs made when passing over Lane Hutson last year. Super similar player that racks up points offensively.
Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Dallas StarsStrong defensive defenseman. Old school player who punishes opposing forwards. Blues continue to stockpile defenseman as the current NHL group continues to grow older and will be phased out.
Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-Energizer bunny on the ice. Small stature but can play anywhere in the lineup. Canes would love him and fits there defensive structure. Strong freshman season at Michigan that would of stood out more if not for Fantilli
Logo of the Montreal CanadiensLogo of the Florida PanthersFirst goalie in the draft goes to Montreal as they select the 6'6" Czech goalie. Strong technique and covers a lot of net. Could be a bit quicker side to side but his size helps. Canadiens get there goalie to replace longtime cornerstone Price. Take him here to ensure Chicago and San Jose don't rob them of the top goalie.
Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-Aggressive winger that fits there playoff style of play. Who knows which direction they take as they're in win now mode without much of a prospect pool.
ROUND 2TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-Ducks want scorers. Hard to do much better than BCHL star Nadeau who destroyed Jr. A. Phenomenal shooter with one of the best releases in the draft.
Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-Edstrom is a 6 ft 3 center with nhl traits. Major upside pick who could go as high as 20 all the way into 2nd round. Getting two big centers with first two picks makes the Jackets high end wingers happy.
Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-Could be a major steal as the Danish players stock has risen dramatically recently. Adaptable, intelligent forward that is one of the better defensive forwards in the draft. Always moving all over the ice. Needs to grow his offensive upside
Logo of the San Jose Sharks-RHD offensive defenseman. Could be a steal here if his skating and defensive skills develop. Sharks wanted a goalie but probably address that in later rounds. Mini run on defenseman starts here.
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Undersized forward but fantastic offensive skills. Strong positioning and playmaking in the offensive zone. Might fall further due to size concerns.
Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-AZ gets another defensive prospect they want. Mobile defenseman who could grow into a strong puck moving defenseman.
Logo of the Buffalo SabresLogo of the Philadelphia FlyersPhysical, imposing RHD. Does his best work in the defensive zone in front of the net. Fills a need for the Sabres as they need more defensive defenseman in both AHL and NHL. Could partner Power or Dahlin in 3/4 years.
Logo of the Washington Capitals-Washington needs centers added to the pool for the eventual changing of the guard from Backstrom and Kuzy. Stramel has physical tools that GMs drool over but will fall due to a subpar first season in the NCAA with Wisconsin. Physical, power forward type center with a good shot but needs to improve skating. Could still go higher than here because of his physical makeup.
Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Toolsy center who has one of the highest ceilings of this second round. Detroit would be ecstatic with this pick.
Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the St. Louis BluesNow Yzerman addresses his defense with the next two picks. Brzustewicz is a modern day/two-way/right shot defenseman with superb skating and positioning. Is strong against the rush and calm under pressure
Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the Vancouver CanucksGreat skating smallish defenseman. Developed very well with the NTDP as he was one of there most important defenseman
Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Ottawa SenatorsFell from earlier in year. Good skating/transition defenseman to build the Hawks pipeline. Good work ethic but needs consistency which may come with maturity as he is one of the youngest in the draft.
Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Sabres get another large forward as there prospect pool still needs more size. 6 ft 3 power forward with a laserbeam shot. Consistency issues and struggled in Liiga. Imagine Thompson, Wood, Halttunen. Real life bash brothers.
Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsTremendous stickhandler and high creativity. Preds take a player without many weaknesses to bolster there forward depth. Insane value.
Logo of the Nashville Predators-Morin is a fast, offensive D-man with good transition skills. Could be a top 4 powerplay quarterback but needs to get stronger. Preds take care of D depth behind Josi.
Logo of the Calgary Flames-RHD that uses his strong skating to defend with strong positioning and has great transition ability. Flames look to get younger on the defensive corps.
Logo of the New York Islanders-Islanders first pick is to combat there goal scoring woes. Lardis is a shoot first ask questions later kind of player. On the young side so if he gets bigger/develops skills will turn into a great player
Logo of the Seattle KrakenLogo of the Winnipeg JetsFantastic skater. Wizard with the puck on his stick. Basically invisible defensively. Kraken add another potential homerun forward.
Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningHawks pick up there goalie of the future. Strong U18s and reads the game well. "Only" 6'1" but one of the top goalies available.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Strong puck pursuit all around the ice. Speedy and grew as the year went on suggesting more growth.
Logo of the Minnesota Wild-6 ft winger that plays a physical game. One of the top power forwards with good offensive tools. Again as most often with lower prospects needs to improve skating to keep up with NHL speed.
Logo of the Los Angeles Kings-Huge defensive defenseman. Hounds opposing forwards and punishes them in the defensive end. Kings have traded a lot of there defensive prospects and Dvorak projects as a great opposite style of Brandt Clarke.
Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the New York RangersSmall creative center. Hawks just keep adding chips to the pile as he could be a future playmaker for the franchise.
Logo of the Edmonton Oilers-Big forward that can play winger and center. Probably will go higher as his traits scream NHLer but needs to find consistency and keep a strong compete level.
Logo of the Seattle KrakenLogo of the Toronto Maple LeafsCanada's goalie of the future. Quick and athletic with good puck tracking. Right up there with Hrabal and Augustine as best goalie of the draft.
Logo of the New Jersey Devils-Well-rounded player with a strong physical presence. Used to be a defender so already advanced defensively from the forward position. Devils have a strong prospect pool so can work with Nelson to mold him into a dynamic shut down forward.
Logo of the Anaheim DucksLogo of the Colorado AvalancheTremendous value here. Had over 20 points in the top Finnish league. Good hands and can find the net with strong IQ and positioning. Will provide strong complimentary scoring someday.
Logo of the Anaheim DucksLogo of the Boston BruinsCagnoni is an offensive defenseman who is a great passer and stickhandler. Very slippery while walking the point and generates loads of offense. Super small but Ducks take that risk. High intelligence so not all is lost defensively. Still could be a fantastic pick.
Logo of the Dallas Stars-Small forward that plays much bigger with lots of energy. Good forechecker and aggressive with defenders much bigger than him. Pest like player.
Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-Canes miss out on a Finnish target but always love a good defenseman. Offensive minded defenseman. Smooth skater, good passer but needs to take less risks with the puck.
Logo of the Florida Panthers-6 ft 3 RHD who is another strong defender. May slide due to injuries but is a dynamic skater and is willing to do the dirty work defensively.
Logo of the Minnesota WildLogo of the Vegas Golden KnightsWild get the highly regarded Finnish forward Kiiskinen as there third pick. Could possibly be picked must higher as he has above average offensive skills with great size. Great pick by Minnesota this late in 2nd round.
ROUND 3TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-USHL goalie of the year. Heading to Boston College. Fantastic positioning allows him to always be in the right place when shot is taken. Ducks get a future stud goalie.
Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-Jackets go all in on big forwards first 3 rounds. Good skating power forward on a deep Seattle Thunderbirds team. Good player in traffic in front of the net and has NHL traits to his game.
Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-6'2" forward who is part of the always improving Slovakia. Destroyed the U18s with strong puck control and positioning with some power to his game. Needs to improve processing speed.
Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the San Jose SharksCould be a potential steal here. Nilsson is a well rounded forward who can play all positions. Solid potential bottom six pivot.
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Local boy for the Habs. Intelligent player with great defensive stick work. Could be a fan favorite who excels in the little things.
Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-Projects as a physical stay at home defenseman on a 2nd pair. Coyotes love his play in front of his own net. Penalty kill specialist as well.
Logo of the Carolina HurricanesLogo of the Philadelphia Flyers6-2 forward who can play both Center and Wing. Probably projects as a middle of the lineup depth scorer with a solid motor.
Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Washington CapitalsAthletically gifted goalie who was best goalie at WJC. Will attend Minnesota Duluth to refine his technique. Yotes get there future goalie.
Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Highly intelligent player. Two way maven when he is on and great hands. Point producer but needs to improve skating and decision making. Could end up being taken much higher than this.
Logo of the St. Louis Blues-Supporting winger with great size. Reliable two way skillset but nothing really elite.
Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-Versatile forward with strong awareness of the game around him. 200 ft game that gels with many different teammates
Logo of the St. Louis BluesLogo of the Ottawa SenatorsHas all the traits of a strong, two way centerman at the NHL level. Quickly drives through the neutral zone at high pace. Blues would love his skill and moldable traits.
Logo of the Vegas Golden KnightsLogo of the Buffalo SabresCompetes hard and produced points when it mattered but his small stature knocks him to the 3rd round.
Logo of the Los Angeles KingsLogo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsFantastic at the World U18s. Two way player with an aggressive game. Versatile so could fill in many places in the Kraken lineup. Below avg skater and poor size drops him down.
Logo of the Nashville Predators-Stop if you've heard this before. Small but extremely talented Russian. Elite offensive IQ and fights for every puck. Tremendous value is rated as a 2nd rounder in most rankings. More of a playmaker than scorer. Needs to get used to smaller ice to be effective.
Logo of the New Jersey DevilsLogo of the Calgary FlamesSolid across the board. Performed well in the lower leagues of Russia. Energetic player with a responsible defensive game. Likes to attack purely off the rush. Will likely be a bottom 6 forward if he gets used to NA ice.
Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the New York IslandersSparkplug type player who only fell this far due to his 5'9" frame. Non stop motor as well as decent playmaking skills. Great skating and elusive with the puck. The Russian factor and his small size has him fall far in this draft. Could be a true wild card pick.
Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-Platooned with Thomas Milic this season. If the Jets do part with franchise pillar Hellebuyck they could draft his eventual successor in the same year. Quick goalie who needs more reps to see his true potential.
Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningConnects plays with teammates and is an important passer on the ice. Would work well as a complementary piece with two strong linemates. High energy as well.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Solid, all round D-man. Was projected as one of the top defenseman in the draft but fell due to some big defensive miscues/decision making. Seattle hope to rebuild his confidence.
Logo of the Anaheim DucksLogo of the Minnesota WildInsane puck skills. "Maniac on the ice". Fantastic skater and a prototype modern offensive defenseman in the offensive zone. However, defensively he needs a lot of work. Boom/bust player.
Logo of the Buffalo SabresLogo of the Los Angeles KingsLocal kid from Clarence, NY. RHD who is an adaptable player and can play multiple systems. Smooth skater and solid using the body on defense. Gets caught puck watching a fair bit and dealt with some injuries this season.
Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the New York RangersBertucci has been a late riser who has been a steady defenseman with a developing offensive game. Could be a shutdown defender in the NHL. Flyers add more to backend.
Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Edmonton OilersLuca Cagnoni's partner in Portland. 6'3" RHD but needs to get stronger. Good skater and a solid passer of the puck. Won't wow you in either zone but proved to be dependable in most situations.
Logo of the Vancouver CanucksLogo of the Toronto Maple LeafsPhysical defender. Good skater as well but does not do much with the puck. Needs to up the intensity he plays with to be a successful defender in the NHL. Too passive at times.
Logo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsLogo of the New Jersey DevilsFirst things first he has to fix his skating. Very choppy with an awkward stride. Skating aside, Suniev was an extremely productive player who used his powerful frame to score lots of goals in high danger spots on the ice.
Logo of the New York RangersLogo of the Colorado Avalanche6'3" strong skating defenseman. Defensive minded but is a little clunky in his own zone. Rangers bet on potential over some more refined defenseman still available.
Logo of the Boston Bruins-Was once traded for Shane Wright. 6'4" power forward. Bruins first pick of the draft gets them a tantalizing future battering ram in the forward line. Shows good enough hands and shot for a future NHL player.
Logo of the Chicago BlackhawksLogo of the Dallas Stars6'2" speedy defenseman. Loves to hit and might be one of the most physical players in this draft class. Needs to grow however as he was a 3rd pairing in the QMJHL so needs more minutes.
Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the Carolina HurricanesOffensive 6'2" defenseman. Sublime passer but sometimes forces things. Defensively is not adequate. If he figures out his defensive duties could be a future pillar on the Sharks.
Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Florida PanthersGoal scorer. Uses strong positioning and smarts to get to the right spot on the ice. Needs to pass more and move his feet as he often drifts looking to get open for a shot.
Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-Belarussian overager from last year. Has a legit shot and scored much more this year. One dimensional but does it extremely well.
ROUND 4TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-Raw, long term prospect. Big power forward type center who needs some work
Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-USNTDP's shutdown defender this last year. Moves well for his size. Likes to deliver crunching hits but offers little offensively. Will get drafted purely for his physical makeup but is a project. Heading to Wisconsin.
Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-Another forward where his best tool is his shot. Has good offensive instincts and is a decent passer. Won't be a play driver but if he builds up some strength may make it in the NHL.
Logo of the San Jose Sharks-Sharks finally get there needed goalie. Clara is a rare Italian-born hockey player. With his size, Clara has an incredible reach and covers a lot of the net. Stays in his net a lot similar to cup winner Adin Hill. Needs to improve mobility and technique on rebounds.
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-RHD on his way to NCAA Cornell. Has good mobility and a developing two-way game. Good outlet passer in his own zone. Still has some immature defensive plays such as letting players get inside him to the middle of the ice far to easily. Project defenseman again.
Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-Finnish all around power forward. Plays well in the corners and isn't afraid of the physicality. Competitive player but skating is a work in progress.
Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-A chance creator that drove plays for Finland. Plays a purposeful, fast paced game. Decent shot just wish he was bigger. Depth player nothing much more.
Logo of the Washington Capitals-Big LHD with a rocket shot. One of the youngest players and still a raw prospect. Many years away from the league.
Logo of the Vancouver CanucksLogo of the Detroit Red WingsGreat skater, stickhandler and agility to beat a man. Forechecks with speed. Could go higher but part of a weaker Finnish prospect class this year so not a lot of NHL traits.
Logo of the St. Louis Blues-Minnesota's Mr. Hockey. Sixth player is USHS-Minnesota to pass 300 points for there career. Pure playmaker with great distribution tools. Good at creating space. Average skater and generally weak so will need to improve at Minnesota-Duluth next year.
Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-Split time with Erie Otters and NK Nitra. Defensive winger with high defensive IQ. Strong on the cycle and a pass first player. Needs to work on skating and puck carrying to be a depth player.
Logo of the Ottawa Senators-Only 5'9" but plays bigger on the ice. Competitive 200 ft player with great skating technique. Needs to bulk up.
Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Could be a bottom 6 center in the NHL. Good size and skater and does strong work in the defensive zone. Gets in some fights as well which fans will love.
Logo of the Montreal CanadiensLogo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsCould be a sneaky pick by the Canadiens. Went to the same prep school as famous alumni Sid Crosby and Jonathan Toews. Nehring is a big, physical player who likes to park in front of the net or shield the puck from defenders in the offensive zone. Good passer but needs better hands and skating to make a large impact.
Logo of the Nashville Predators-Sluggish speed/skating but a physical, puck protecting forward. Shields well all over the ice and has strong hockey IQ. Good hands and will be a nightmare to defend on the boards. Needs to work on skating.
Logo of the Calgary Flames-Calgary native. Small player who plays bigger. A common theme in this draft. Makes plays at high speed and has a deceptive shot/good playmaking skills. Size does let him down and he gets pushed around. Plays in a weak league so we will see how he does in NCAA.
Logo of the New York Islanders-Good all around player but no defined elite, trait. Plays a simple game based on his strong work ethic and decent skating. Good in faceoffs which may be crucial to him developing a niche in prospect pools. Islanders style of player.
Logo of the Columbus Blue JacketsLogo of the Winnipeg JetsNHL frame and a solid skater. Smart with his stick defensively and good against the rush. What knocks EP down is he is poor under pressure and rushes his game. Has some offensive ability but questionable decision making.
Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Tampa Bay LightningPlays a typical power forward game. Projects as a shutdown defender and kills plays before they get going. Physical presence and strong on the penalty kill.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Needs to bulk up as he is extremely frail. Can play both sides and is strong in transition due to great skating. Very reactive player. Will get drafted purely due to skating.
Logo of the Detroit Red WingsLogo of the Minnesota WildRaw player with some exciting potential NHL traits. Could develop into a puck moving defenseman. One of the best point shots in the class and loves to join the attack. Needs to improve defensively.
Logo of the Los Angeles Kings-Project goaltender with fantastic size. Needs to get faster and work on rebound control. Kings take a gamble here as they seek to find someone to fill in Quick's legacy.
Logo of the Vancouver CanucksLogo of the New York RangersSon of former NHLer Darby. Committed to Minnesota. Intelligent, two way player with good defensive IQ. Sound skater and solid shooter. Needs more bulk.
Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Edmonton OilersLong term, potential pick. Big frame and is physical in front of his net. Looks like a fantastic prospect and will hone his skills at Notre Dame.
Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Toronto Maple Leafs
Juha Jatkola
Great season in the Liiga. Aggressive goalie who likes to challenge shooters. He is pretty mobile and technically sound. Late rising goalie that Nashville would love to grab here.
Logo of the New Jersey Devils-Central scouting #1 European goalie. Arguably the most agile goalie with a good glove. Needs to work on staying cool under pressure because he tends to get over aggressive and unable to see through traffic in front. Could go way higher than here for a goalie needy team.
Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the Colorado AvalancheOne of the youngest players in the draft. Primarily a playmaker with great IQ and vision. Plays a simple game but needs to be more engaged at times.
Logo of the Boston Bruins-Belarussian playing in the Q. Loshko is a balanced offsensive threat with a lot of great traits. PPG in the Q. Underrated player seems like a Boston kind of steal late in the 4th round.
Logo of the Dallas Stars-Big bodied forward from Russia. Fantastic size/speed combo with a fantastic shot. Sometimes appears uninterested in games so may fall even further from here but a tantalizing prospect.
Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-High motored forward who wins possession all over the ice. Can be a threat in the offensive zone but is at his best off the puck. Needs to work on skating like most prospects from mid round down.
Logo of the Florida Panthers-USDP product. Very strong and powerful skater. Tracks down forwards and good at separating them from the puck. Very raw on the offensive side of the ice. Captained USA at 17 years old which shows high character.
Logo of the Montreal CanadiensLogo of the Vegas Golden KnightsBig defenseman who produced points in the MHL. A good skater for his size and looks like a pro style defenseman.
ROUND 5TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-Czech center who has seen massive improvement from last year. Needs to improve his acceleration but at top speed he is a force. Mature defensive player who can do a shift on the PK. Will be a great bottom 6 player for the ducks if he develops.
Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the Columbus Blue Jackets
Yegor Klimovich
Small playmaker from the MHL. Common theme with the Russians this year. Excellent skater and a highlight machine in offensive zone. Doesn't really play defense and not physical at all. Might only be successful on larger sheets of ice so wouldn't be surprised if he goes undrafted. Sharks have so many late round picks so why not give it a shot.
Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-Excellent skater who plays a simple game. Effective passer in both zones but may need to work on his shot to become an offensive defenseman.
Logo of the San Jose Sharks-Another fantastic skating defenseman. Good transition player who needs to fill the stat sheet more to make it in the pros. Poor mans ASP.
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Picked here because of his defensive play and smarts. Does not produce must offensively so will drop to later rounds.
Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-Could be one of the best picks of the draft here by the Yotes. Put up a boatload of points for the Vancouver Giants. Very comfortable with the puck on his stick and can run powerplay easily. Working on his defense as he himself has acknowledged he needs to improve there.
Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-Son of former NHL player Bruce Gardiner. Can play all different roles on the ice. Plays a no nonsense style game and is surprisingly a strong finisher in front of the net.
Logo of the Washington Capitals-Russian goalies are all the rage these days. Washington heads back to Russia to get a strong goalie prospect. Patient goalie who's calm demeanor makes it tough on shooters. Big potential.
Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Very good skater with balance/agility combo. Good finisher but limited creativity in the offensive zone. Not much of a distributor type. Not effective defensively. Pure potential pick. Stevie Y gambled on Russian players last year and does so again.
Logo of the St. Louis Blues-
Thomas Suchanek
Will get drafted based on his WJC performance alone. 1.52 GAA and .934% in 7 games for the Czechs. Hybrid goalie with quick reflexes and mobility. Needs more control and composure but the potential to be a top goalie is there. Blues get another goalie for the pipeline.
Logo of the Carolina HurricanesLogo of the Vancouver CanucksYoung player. Strong skater who plays a physical style. Racks up penalty minutes and a fierce forechecker down low. Canes would love to use him in the playoffs.
Logo of the Ottawa Senators-Undersized but a smooth skating, puck moving defenseman. Fantastic transitions and great with the puck. Struggles defensively due to size.
Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Undersized playmaker. Plus level skating and awareness. Dynamic in possession and would fit the Sabres rush style well.
Logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Moves well for such a large body. Projects as an intelligent shutdown defender as he has almost no offensive qualities right now.
Logo of the Nashville Predators-Hard nosed player with high compete level and 200 ft game. Deceptive release and an accurate shooter. Has good skating in regards to acceleration and straight line speed.
Logo of the Montreal CanadiensLogo of the Calgary FlamesOverager who has become an intriguing offensive defenseman. Played forward for a bit and now is a skilled puck handler on the backend. Manipulates forwards with constant fakes and dekes as well as strong puck protection. Needs to continue growing his defensive game but is a fantastic prospect to watch.
Logo of the New York Islanders-Potential bottom 6 forward. Defensively responsible and chases after the puck relentlessly. Distributes the puck in the offensive zone and doesn't take many risks.
Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-Raw RHD from the WHL. Needs to fix his choppy stride but has good speed when he gets going. Good rush defender but needs to beef up for the next level as he is weak on the puck and on the body.
Logo of the Nashville PredatorsLogo of the Tampa Bay Lightning
Michael Hagens
His brother James is a crazy prospect for the 2025 draft. Michael is a smooth skating two way defenseman. His best trait is his puck moving and vision through the neutral zone. Has the talent to make the NHL just needs to improve decision making and mental errors.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-
Isac Hedqvist
Loves to have the puck on his stick. Nightmare to defend 1 on 1. Always willing to battle for the puck. Needs to work on his shot as his release is poor.
Logo of the Minnesota Wild-
Luke Mittelstadt
Younger brother of Casey. Minnesota native would be one of the coolest moments of the draft if he goes to the Wild. Puck moving defenseman who is solid in both phases of the game. Needs to beef up more but could project as a puck moving defenseman at next level.
Logo of the Los Angeles Kings-Energetic player with good skating. Does well in tight to defenders and can puckhandle out of it. Intriguing overager.
Logo of the Winnipeg JetsLogo of the New York RangersBig center forward with good hands and feet. Winnipeg loves there big forwards so takes another shot on Castagna deep in the 5th round.
Logo of the New York RangersLogo of the Edmonton OilersAnother Minnesota boy. Alumni from his school include Brock Boeser, Ryan McDonagh and Brady Skjei. Complete player with a strong two way game. Big body frame with a solid wrist shot. Needs to improve release and increase speed.
Logo of the Toronto Maple Leafs-Don't really know much about him due to the little scouting information I could find. Has good stats in the MHL and Toronto would like to add a goalie at some point in the draft. Huge sized goalie.
Logo of the New Jersey Devils-Norwegian Center playing in Sweden. Actually played 4th line minutes in the World Championships recently. High awareness player with a quality off puck game. Definitely going to be a supporting player and needs to improve his offensive game.
Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-Excellent skater in the Q. Quick off the blocks and has a nhl ready shot. Not very physical but still getting used to his game in North America. Colorado could hit a home run here with one of there few picks this draft.
Logo of the Columbus Blue JacketsLogo of the Boston BruinsSkilled, smooth skating center from the Brooks Bandits. Skating is his best trait but needs to improve defensively if he wants to stick to center in the NCAA/pro game.
Logo of the Dallas Stars-High end skilled center. Can play a strong 2 way game and a leader on the ice.
Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-One of the fastest players in the WHL. Very good off the puck and a good penalty killer. Fits the Canes mold in forwards as he never takes a shift off. Workmanlike forward.
Logo of the Florida Panthers-
Jimmy Clark
Heading to the Gophers. Skilled, playmaking forward who will get to play with many top prospects on a loaded Minnesota team. Could really blossom next season.
Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Vegas Golden KnightsLarge framed winger out of the OHL. Power forward who can drive play. Could work on his skating explosiveness. Arizona wants to keep getting bigger.
ROUND 6TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Anaheim Ducks-
Gavyn Thoreson
Undersized forward. Slot oriented playmaker who buzzes around the ice. Good stick defensively but absolutely needs to get stronger to make it further.
Logo of the Arizona CoyotesLogo of the Columbus Blue JacketsRHD with an NHL frame. Likes to join the rush and is an offensive defenseman. Long term project that needs to learn the intricacies to the defensive side of the game.
Logo of the Carolina HurricanesLogo of the Chicago Blackhawks
Ignat Lutfullin
Canes love there Russians. Drives his team offensively with fantastic stickhandling and 1 on 1 talents. Could simplify his game a bit as he is going to get lit up trying some of the stuff he tries on bigger ice. A potential star that the Canes can gamble on.
Logo of the San Jose Sharks-Big bodied RHD who is heading to St. Thomas in NCAA. Strong gap control and a hard worker. Great value pick here by the Sharks as he is said to have a lot of potential. Might go higher because he has a lot of what you look for in an NHL defenseman.
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Relentless motor. Like most slight players he needs to have a strong off puck game to have a chance. Has vision in his game and is a responsible 2 way player.
Logo of the Arizona Coyotes-Great two way defenseman. Was the top scorer on his squad with a good all round game. Quality puck mover.
Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-Huge center out of the Czech Republic. Plays like the old Flyers and flat out bullies player. Loves to hit and play a physical game.
Logo of the Seattle KrakenLogo of the Washington CapitalsPuck moving, modern two-way defenseman. Good vision in the zone and uses his stick well. However, he needs to fix his skating to have a shot in NHL.
Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Extremely short player. Well rounded playmaker with good deception and smart movements. Valuable penalty killer for the NTDP. Heading to Boston College and has a chance to play with the studs from the first round and grow his frame more.
Logo of the St. Louis Blues-Our second Italian born prospect. Excellent skater and has high transition, puck moving skills. Good forechecker. Needs to continue to grow his passing at pace and physicality.
Logo of the Vancouver Canucks-Will get drafted due to his production but also plays on one of the top teams in the MHL. With Canucks success with Kuzmenko I see them taking another high potential Russian. Energetic player but lacks any elite traits. Another Russian that could possible get passed over completely in this draft.
Logo of the Philadelphia FlyersLogo of the Ottawa Senators
Jeremy Hanzel
One of the WHL's premier two way defenseman. Was on the loaded Thunderbirds team and played important minutes.
Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Impressive Slovakian keeper. Polished technique and a butterfly goalie. Good mobility across the crease. Needs to perform better when things aren't going his way as he "turtles" and loses focus after letting in a couple goals.
Logo of the Pittsburgh Penguins-
Thomas Milic
Small goalie who won lots of trophies with Team Canada and Seattle Thunderbirds. Performs well under pressure. Size may scare off teams but he shows great competitiveness as well as strong mobility in the crease.
Logo of the Nashville Predators-Strong work ethic and forechecker in the offensive zone. Relentless motor and good defensively. Remains to be seen if he can produce offensive numbers.
Logo of the Calgary Flames-USHL defenseman of the year. Gritty defender who scored over 50 points. Strong two way game and excels defending the rush. Good shot from the point.
Logo of the New York Islanders-High IQ 200 ft player. Great off puck game and always seems to be available for a pass. Heading to UNH and has potential to explode with more responsibility next season.
Logo of the New York RangersLogo of the Winnipeg Jets
Ian Blomquist
Drury selects a goalie to grow in the farm. Fluid goalie who reads the game well. No flashy high end talents just solid.
Logo of the Tampa Bay Lightning-Offensive defenseman for Prince George. Strong transition player with fantastic creativity in all 3 zones. Prone to mental mistakes and needs to continue to hone his defensive game in his own zone.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Pure goal scorer. Uses his size well to protect the puck. Needs to improve skating to be anything more.
Logo of the Minnesota Wild-Again Minnesota selects a Minnesota native. Goalie added to the pipeline. Would like to grow a bit more but shows strong technique in USA youth teams.
Logo of the Los Angeles Kings-Another player from Belarus. I was surprised how much this country has produced when looking at prospects for this year. Anoshko is a goalscorer who always seems to show up in clutch moments. Doesn't have a spectactular shot but LAK would be betting on production continuing even without the standout traits.
Logo of the New York Rangers-Kuusla is a slight Finnish forward who appeared throughout Finnish youth teams. High motor and seems to be more of a playmaker than scorer. Could produce more with more talented linemates.
Logo of the Edmonton Oilers-Future Michigan Wolverine from New York City. Strong poise, confidence and goalie instincts as he will certainly be given a chance to succeed and win lots on the Wolverines. More of a reflex goalie. Oilers always need a goalie so take one here.
Logo of the Toronto Maple Leafs-Very good MHL season. Made some appearances for the Belarus national team and is a strong skater with a good shot from point. Not a big guy but shows strong offensive talent from the mold. Certainly a moldable player here for the Leafs.
Logo of the New Jersey Devils-Played 39 games in the KHL. Devils selected Yegor Sharangovich from the same club in 2018 and he turned into a solid NHL winger. Moroz has good hands and loves to park in front of the net. Needs to improve his skating and quickness to make the league.
Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-Towering defenseman who played the stay at home shutdown role for Sweden. Long reach helps defensively and punishes players trying to get around him. Will not be heavily involved in transition or offensively. Late round steal.
Logo of the Boston Bruins-Hard working shutdown center. Has size, physicality and an active stick. Attacks the middle but needs to increase his deceptiveness and skating. Already plays like a Bruin.
Logo of the Dallas Stars-Huge stay at home defenseman. Simple game and punishes opposing forwards in the zone. Will not be a strong offensive player but can shut down opposing forwards.
Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-
Canes keep building there Russian army. Small height but built like a truck. Chaly is strong defensively with a developing offensive game.
Logo of the Florida Panthers-Small, dimunitive forward from the WHL. Won't tulk smash anyone but plays a responsible game in both zones.
Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-Performed well in the OHL for Flint. Vegas adds another goalie to the stable. Smaller size but produces big saves. Maybe he will surprise and win a cup one day like Hill.
ROUND 7TEAMORIGINALPLAYERDETAILS
Logo of the Tampa Bay LightningLogo of the Anaheim DucksHuge forward committed to Western Michigan. Plays a playoff style type of game. Scores a bunch of goals by his positioning and hands in front.
Logo of the Columbus Blue Jackets-Massive frame. An intriguing prospect with fantastic workrate. Smooth player despite his size. May go higher as a team will definitely fall in love with his size and skill makeup. Needs to be more involved in plays.
Logo of the Chicago Blackhawks-Big bodied forward for the NTDP. Didn't playing a starring role on the development team but should get drafted for his skills and talent combo. Heading to St. Cloud State.
Logo of the San Jose Sharks-Michigan commit. Speedy forward but needs to bulk up. Sharks gamble on some explosive growth in the NCAA next year.
Logo of the Montreal Canadiens-Struggles with injuries but has potential to be drafted much higher. Big center with fantastic upside. Canadiens would get a steal here. Needs to improve skating and stay healthy but talent could be there.
Logo of the Florida PanthersLogo of the Arizona CoyotesAgitator player. Would fit right in with Cousins, Bennett and Tkachuk. Strong skater and uses all his 5 foot 9 frame to physically try and bully players. Late riser who may go higher due to his physical play.
Logo of the Philadelphia Flyers-Another Seattle Thunderbirds player. Calm, composed two way defenseman with a fantastic shot from the point. As with most late rounders could go higher if a team loves his potential.
Logo of the Washington Capitals-Capitals grab another Russian. They take advantage of the geopolitical situation and nab another one of there targets. Large defenseman who can sake and produce offense. Adds some much needed size and skill to the Capitals defensive pool.
Logo of the Detroit Red Wings-Good mobility and challenges shooters from all angles. Rebound control and glove work need work. Not sure he gets drafted this year but if one team takes a gamble it would be Yzermans Detroit.
Logo of the St. Louis Blues-
Justin Kipkie
Huge defenseman. Mobile with the puck and calm around it. If he develops a more explosive first step he could be something special.
Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the Vancouver CanucksDisruptive, defensive center for the Ottawa 67s. Strong stick work and a deceptively great passer. Needs to get faster and shoot more as he becomes a pro.
Logo of the Ottawa Senators-Speedy forward with good defensive skills. Would do well on the penalty kill due to his high motor.
Logo of the Buffalo Sabres-Very physical and loves to hit. Plays like Radko Gudas an absolute madman on the ice. Mean penalty killer who can skate but is always focused on the physical aspect of his game.
Logo of the San Jose SharksLogo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsTwo way defenseman who is a strong skater in the AllSvenskan. Put up a lot of points and will be drafted as a potential offensive defenseman.
Logo of the Ottawa SenatorsLogo of the Nashville PredatorsFantastic youth prospect who has slipped in recent years. Smart, creative hard working C with high IQ and playmaking. Excellent skater that could improve a little. Needs to work on the small things to become an NHL player.
Logo of the Calgary Flames-Strong through the neutral zone. Delic has a high motor with strong playmaking skills. Would project as a 3rd line center if it goes right.
Logo of the New York Islanders-
Cole Burbidge
Versalite forward in the Q. Swiss army knife player who played up and down the lineup. Stellar hockey IQ and reads the game well. These traits make him a great player in his own zone allows him to disrupt opponents. Also enables him to be a strong playmaker but needs to improve skating.
Logo of the Winnipeg Jets-Fantastic rush defense due to his strong mobility and deceptive skills. Physical along the boards as well. Will need to find a stronger offensive game to make an impact.
Logo of the Tampa Bay Lightning-Can play all 3 forward positions. Good size and ranked highly in European circles. Played over 30 games in the SHL as a 18 year old. Brings a high compete level and can annoy his opponents. 4th line potential disruptor.
Logo of the Seattle Kraken-Mammoth defenseman for Red Deer. Plays a physical style and will project as a defensive defenseman. Needs to improve skating.
Logo of the Minnesota Wild-Dimunitive Slovak forward. Good puck skills and stickhandling. Also has silky hands in tight spaces. Needs to get faster and bigger. U18s probably gave him a platform to be drafted but would not be surprised if not.
Logo of the Boston BruinsLogo of the Los Angeles KingsOne of the best puck retrievers in the class. Non stop motor and improved playmaking skills. Has good anticipation in the lanes.
Logo of the Ottawa SenatorsLogo of the New York RangersOne of the bigger United States goalies in recent times. Uses his frame to get in the way of shots and stay deep in the net. Senators get a goalie with size to add to the pool.
Logo of the Edmonton Oilers-Big center who will provide depth in Oilers organization. Going to Colorado college.
Logo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsLogo of the Toronto Maple LeafsCzech defender with good potential traits. Solid awareness and physically strong
Logo of the New Jersey Devils-Czech defender with good potential traits. Solid awareness and physically strong with a good skating technique. Puck skills are there to be a puck moving defender at the next level. Good offensive potential.
Logo of the Colorado Avalanche-Ridiculous numbers in the Czech youth leagues. 4th ranked Euro goalie. Has small size but the talent is there.
Logo of the Boston Bruins-Strong two way defenseman. Smart puck mover and one of the more physical defenders in the OHL. Skating is smooth. Could be another fantastic steal for the Bruins.
Logo of the Dallas Stars-Butterfly goalie. Challenges shooters by making the net small. Needs to work on improvisation and puck handling to improve his game.
Logo of the Carolina Hurricanes-
Lukas Matecha
#5 in European goalies. Canes take a flier on a promising goalie from the Czech Republic.
Logo of the Pittsburgh PenguinsLogo of the Florida PanthersAnother Minnesota commit. Relentless work ethic and playmaking skills. Small frame but is still growing with his late birthday.
Logo of the Vegas Golden Knights-Power forward who asserts himself physically. Strong finisher around the net and is not afraid to mix it up with opponents. This helps him protect the bug as well as dislodge opponents from it. Would be a great enforcer on Vegas as the last pick of the draft.

That is an incredible amount of work. Very Impressive. Big fan of C Terrance from Erie. 6 foot 30 goal scorer who can fly. Feel like if he played for a better team, would be drafted higher.

I think he could consistently hit 60 pts. I think it depends on his linemates as he would be more of the two way player. I think Pronman/Wheeler compared him to Brock Nelson at his peak.
