Blues decline. We have no reason to trade Vrana before the season for a 2nd 2 drafts away and we retain 50%.

Meant to include that the trade happens at the 2024 deadline

Blues really liked Vrana and Kapanen by the end of last year. Maybe it’s the fact they got both for basically free, but each played well and are great depth pieces.

"drug dependence" ???? WTF??? I'm literally the biggest Vrana fan out there and this is the first I've heard this. Got any sources on this?

Look it up man, he was dealing with cocaine issues during his time in DC. There were multiple sources that reported this when he was dealt.

I just wish a team would give him the minutes he deserves. Gonna be hard in STL, but he definitely seemed like he fit the team well. Guaranteed if he was getting 18+ minutes a game he'd be a 45-50 goal player.

Lol. "Look it up"...always the answer when someone has no clue what they are talking about. I'll say it again, I've followed Vrana every step of the way in his career, not once has "drug dependence" been mentioned.

I understand your hard-on for him, but if you actually look at the news reports and everything surrounding him Washington moved him because of it and as I was just reading in another trade, Yzerman did the same thing with him.

"There's a 0% chance Yzerman trades for Kuznetsov. He just moved on from Vrana for his rumored coke issues. Kuznetzov had very open coke issues, and based on the timing, it's entirely possible he was involved with Vrana's. Yzerman doesn't touch problematic guys." - Aquaticowl

"Vrana - Once a player enters the assistance program they have to be in it and sout for a min of 30 days. That time has already passed and he's still not back, which is concerning. Speculation is it's cocaine (from his time with the caps), pain killers (because of his injuries), or alcohol (common reason). He could be back tomorrow. He could be out all season. No one has a clue, and maybe not even the Wings either. "

Lol...if you ask a lot of people they will tell you that 2Pac is still alive. What's your point?

Just wondering, Does the player assistance program get used for players to deal with things other than substance abuse?

There are a bunch of things. Psychological issues, family issues, monetary issues...there's a lot. No matter the reasons he was in the PAP, he obviously figured things out enough to get back playing. He can be a beast, just needs a team to show him confidence and give him more minutes. Honestly, and I don't want to speculate too much, but I think he entered PAP because teams just wouldn't give him big minutes and he was frustrated to the point it was affecting him mentally. He proved in DC how dangerous of a scorer he can be and his defense isn't nearly as bad as people think. Just look at his numbers, regular and advanced, it's amazing how little love he gets from coaches.
