DET
  1. Wheeler, Blake ($4,125,000 retained)
Additional Details:
say what you want about Wheeler and the locker room stuff that people don't actually know much about, he's still a big body right handed forward who can put up 50+ points.
WPG
Similar to the Johansen deal. This actually saves them $1.25M in salary and the cap hit won't be existent next season if they were to go the buyout route.

Could maybe do that. Jost going off Johansen deal. Plus he is still actually useful when he plays.

Or you saying that cause that was my go to in a Johansen trade? Lol

Sure he is, but here you have him as a $4M 4th liner and I think that's a bit rich for that position. smile

I'm also not a big fan of Fabbri, so there's that lol

I'm also not a fan and I know high paid fourth liner but there will be injuries or maybe Zadina doesn't cut it and he can move up. Rather have the depth than not. Last season Suter save Kubalik were healthy scratches you start I think.

It was Suter and Zadina at the start of the year. Kubalik played to start and was near ppg after 30 games so they kept him in (and then Bert and Vrana were gone right away and so suter and Zadina came in)

Yzerman has shown he wants nothing to do with guys that are problematic. Wheeler legitimately ran Laine out of town. Why would we even entertain a guy like that on a team full of young guys. He had his captaincy stripped from him, his coach this year has made numerous statements about the lack of willingness in a group that HE LED. Keep Wheeler far away from this team. This has nothing to do with his ability.

My thought process is that if he were to go to a new team with a leadership group in place that he would just keep his mouth shut and play hockey. We would then retain and trade him to a contender at the deadline.
