That does nothing for the Caps. They're not gonna retain half on Mantha and take on Saad's contract.

Maybe the pick needs to be adjusted to make this work but I’d argue that Saad is the kind of secondary scoring the Caps could use.

The Caps need higher-end secondary scoring than Saad. I'm slowly coming to terms with the Caps being essentially locked into running it back with the same roster due to circumstances with the Backstrom uncertainty and the flat cap, but if they do find a way to make significant changes I'd hope they aim for a better player.

I’d have a tough time moving Neighbours for a rental. I’d rather move Leddy than Scandella

Oh I agree that Neighbors is tough to give up. However, he’s needed (or an equivalent asset) to have Calgary take back money. Obvious hope is that you have an extension in place.
