Oilers aren’t trading for a guy that wouldn’t make it into our top 6 and would rather have kostin for cheaper

The Jackets wouldn't trade Peeke for another bottom 6 winger who would maybe play on our 4th line

Yes I do he would be a healthy scratch on the oilers and maybe the 7th defensemen on some nights oilers are a contender not a rebuilding team like Columbus and he is Columbus worse defender by far.

Peeke is a shot blocking machine and hard hitter. He can play Defense. The Jackets also don't need another 4th line winger who is a good AHL player and borderline NHL player. Cleary we disagree on player potential and the trade here.

You should figure out who kostin is before you call him a border line nhl player lmao and Andrew peeke would be the oilers 7th defensemen at best.

Andrew peeke is a shot blocking machine and he’s still -41 that’s pretty embarrassing

You clearly don't watch Peeke or know anything about his game other than random stats you see so the same could be said about you. I can look at stats and then claim I understand. Meanwhile we sit on a site and argue about mediocre trades and who is right LOL.

And nobody on the Jackets had a good +/- with the season they had. Pretty easy to use that stat when you have the top FWD lines scoring at the rate the Oilers do.

So Kostin was a regular in the Oilers and Blues lineup? Or has he mainly played in the AHL while trying to break in to the NHL at 24 years old? At that age, most FWDs are what they are.

Kostin was very effective for the little time he was given and contributed in the playoffs when it mattered most. Andrew peeke on the other hand is a third pairing defensemen at best and has struggled a lot when given 16-17mins a game which is what we saw this season his puck handling ability and skating ability is not very good and wouldn’t fit well with Edmonton.

Right, but I think you have to look at who Peeke played with all season. It was mostly AHL guys called up. Last year when he played with Werenski he was a lot better, still not a top 4 guy but a solid 3rd pairing D who can step into 2nd pair when needed and a great penalty killer.

Either way, it's been a fiery discussion here but some good banter. And if the trade were to ever happen, I would imagine this would start all over again. Good luck.
