Haha, ok pal. Hanifin is gone, you're getting a young dman returning home and you don't have to worry about him leaving you because he's already signed to an 8 year deal. Face it, CGY isn't a destination anymore and players are jumping ship. Trades will be the only route.

this whole players don't want to stay in Calgary narrative needs to stop, it's ****ing horse ****.

Some American players want to go and play in the US, after being kept from their families during the Covid season and only playing in Canada. That viewpoint will once against reduce as life coninues returning to normal.

Backlund may want out, but that's because he's old and wants a Cup. Toffoli wanted to re-sign but we wouldn't give him the term he wanted. Lindholm is up in the air, but if he signs elsewhere it's because this is likely his retirement contract and it'll be the only time he gets to decide where he plays.

The bottom line is Sanheim is an inferior defenseman, he's not worth Hanifin and I'm not even sure he's worth that cap hit. Never mind us adding to picks to that. Also Hanifin to Philly doesn't make much sense since you are tearing down your failed rebuild and I don't see him wanting to extend there. Teams like Buffalo and Florida make way more sense.

Oh it's horse****?

Tkachuk and Gaudreau bounce within a week of each other, two of the premier players in the game.

Toffoli, Lindholm, and Hanifin all follow, basically the all stars of your team.

When I say no one wants to play in CGY, I don't mean bottom 6 and bottom pairing nobodies, i mean the tippy top of the mountain type players, basically all the guys who said they are leaving. Being in Canada since Covid regulations have continued to lessen and will continue, doesn't really mean much. Travel is fine (unless you're in Pearson) so that's not really a reason IMO

SO without reading past your first line, you're clearly in denial if you don't think it's evident you aren't attracting big time players. Kadri is the only exception and he waited so long to get a contract it was beneficial for CGY that no one gave him one to that point.

Yeah it may be, i was thinking from the train of thought that he's basically gone and isn't re-signing, and getting an in his prime dman with a reasonable cap hit if he even gets back to his 21-22 form, would be a boon for them. I would've taken out the 3rd this year but I wanted another pick in the draft, sue me haha

I'm not the team in Canada where players just don't wanna deal with any headache whatsoever. Good luck
