Rangers probably wanted the guy that they thought Pittsburgh was about to take.

Was there really a danger that Pitt was going to take a D man who had one goal for the NTDP last year? I get it that Dan Muse wants us to take his guys and a 7th is slightly more than a bag pf pucks, but I dont see the logic of trading a pick to move up one slot.
