Dubas will trade at least 2 first round picks plus for Swayman. Look at his history…. he trades picks like candy. A 1st plus 2 4ths for Nick Foligno.

That’s not going to be the right package for swayman. Trading him means committing to the next 2 years, going to need a roster player probably a top-6 center

I did chuckle a bit with the Drouin signing (not gonna lie) and playing him in the top 6 but not Rielly Smith is certainly a choice

When they are signing Lucic maybe bring in his old LA teammate, Jeff Carter, at half retention, of course need a bit more than that

That was nearly market value at the time... trade deadlines create bidding wars that the offseason doesnt

Why not try him out? He has a history of elite playmaking but hasnt put the rest of his game together. I wonder if a spot like pitt helps him

Boston is in cap trouble, and they can use the 1st to build for the future while maintaining competitiveness as guys continue to take discounts with them

He traded 6 1st round picks in 5 years with the Leafs. He trades entire drafts at the deadline to make up for his deficiencies.

Look im not a fan of trading that many futures either... and honestly think leafs need some changes... but they have been a top competitive team year in and out so

When you inherit Matthews, Marner, Tavares, Nylander, Reilly, plus Kadri, Hyman and Anderson — AND 9 picks in your first draft — I’d say the table was set for you. Leafs could have accomplished more if he did less.

The Tavares signing was a mistake. He wasnt needed and put the whole leadership debate up for question today with the captaincy. It was a needless move and i think LAK will feel the same in a few years with PLD. The KIngs are facing cap hell in a position they didnt need to leverage.

I think Dubas learned from this and thats all you can do as a new GM

Bad man. His glasses though make him look very suave. Just ignore his wrestling love affair.

Sometimes the only person you need to convince that you are smart, is the person doing the hiring.
