Description
Now with the draft over and us keeping the pick, and the trade for for Riley Smith, this is the type of targets I think we will see. Also, if we can move on from Petry and somehow convince Carter to retire or be moved: we will have even more options. Also try and move on from Rutta. Also, on the Jospeh trade. He’s over priced by about 1M but he’s young and has shown we can be a 30-40 or guy that can play happily on the bottom 6 and maybe will love playing with his brother. Also, saves Ottawa money as they buy out Granlund and want out of the Joseph contact.

This AGM is more of the kinda team we will see come October Vs what I would do with if all moves could be made. The X factor for doing more than this, is moving on from Petry and or Carter.

They just did for a 50 year old Corey Perry. Albeit not Chad. Having said that, he’s serviceable as a 7/8 Dmen so someone like Chicago or Anaheim or Detroit could work.

That's because Perry is a veteran and winner at the NHL level. He's a role model compared to Ruhwedel who most people haven't prob heard of until this armchair gm.

Why would Ottawa do this? They will need Joseph

They only have 9 forwards right now (+13th) assuming DeBrincat doesn't start the season in Ottawa

Crookshank and Sokolov are very close to NHL ready but Ostapchuk, Jarventie, etc should need more development
