Dude has been solid as a 7th defenseman. I'm actually surprised he didn't get signed elsewhere for a little more money.

Hanley is the perfect #7. He knows his role and he can play the same way whether he's played once in the last 3 months or 3 times in the last week.

He probably would've made some elsewhere, but I saw on Twitter (for the minute it worked for me) that Hanley is the one who pushed to go back to Dallas when he had interest from other teams.
